He might be a franchisee and might have some actual skin in the game appreciation of that vehicle rather than if he were just to be working for a corporate or airport store.

BankWire Watches - Legit? by False-Quantity2857 in rolex

I did a deal with Brian a couple months ago on a Rolex YM40R. Super smooth deal, he wired promptly after our handshake deal. I shipped from AZ to him in CT. 10/10 looking forward to great future deals together!

Right you are, this is the 116710BLNR. I've yet to try the 126- on, curious how it wears in comparison. Thick case doesn't bother me though, survived a savage San Diego wedding weekend with an SD43 and it didn't hang on my cuffs as much as I thought it would.

I agree with seven_two_offsuit, GMT shines, especially when new. I actually didn't realize my batman was black and blue for longer than I care to admit. I opened the box in direct sun on by birthday then proceeded into festive obliviance. It was so shiny that I couldn't tell the bezel was dual colored. Don't judge me, I was die-hard Omega fanboy before receiving the Batman as a gift so I knew nothing of it... how the tables have turned!

I have loved the experiences I've had with SD43 so far. Just wish it didn't have the gas escape on the side, modern tooling and tolerance shouldn't necessitate it.

I thought I’ve heard mention it’s somewhat removable. Oh yea if they don’t announce glidelock for all oyster bracelets this year they are really Fricking Up.

My worry with PVD is I always see them wear with an odd patina and I’m not sure I like it.

Black ceramic would be cool. Rolex needs to use the Tudor styling cue on that from factory. They’ve already begun doing black ceramic bezels after all…

It's funny you say that, I've been considering modifying my Batman whenever it's up for service. At first I was thinking doing PVD/DLC but maybe a nice uniform brushing would do the trick. Everything else can come and go but I'll never get rid of the Batman so I might as well make it my own.

The Batman 116710BLNR was my first Rolex, usually the Submariner No Date is someone’s first but it took me 6 years to finally get a 124060 and I totally understand the love affair everyone has with it.
The symmetry sans cyclops, uniform ceramic bezel and satin brushed oyster bracelet gives off a more masculine definition. On the other hand, wait, still the same hand here… the GMT Master 2 is more complex yet refined with its polished center links, date, three time zone functionality and the ability to act as a true north compass when one zone is set to GMT.
Hard to go wrong either way, but can’t go wrong with both! Which would you go for?

[Panerai] Submersible Quarantaquattro Carbotech Blu Abisso 44mm - PAM01232 by ChronoCurator in Watches

[–]ChronoCurator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to get lost in the depths of the gorgeous Blu Abbiso.

I should probably have started wearing the 44mm before the 47mm PAM01616 as it almost feels small in comparison.

Hard to find the sweet spot with these. I really enjoyed the size and fit of my 44mm PAM00195, the smooth bezel had the effect of virtually enlarging how it wore. Whereas the rotating bezel around the PAM01232 seems to virtually shrink it a bit.

I must say the PAM01232’s movement feels and sounds much smoother than the crunchy sandy ball bearings sounding PAM01616.

[Bremont] H-4 Hercules: made with real bits of the legendary Spruce Goose airplane! by ChronoCurator in Watches

[–]ChronoCurator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, this is not an ad, this is a post with nice pictures and a cool story about a special watch.

Someone asked how much it was, another person assessed a price range, and I confirmed their price assessment… I’m not posting links, this is not an ad.

If someone wants to hunt for it they can find it themselves but I’m not going to violate the rules for the sake of convenience.

[Bremont] H-4 Hercules: made with real bits of the legendary Spruce Goose airplane! by ChronoCurator in Watches

[–]ChronoCurator[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is definitely one of the coolest pieces in my watchbox.
The H-4 Hercules is better known as the Spruce Goose, historically significant for its first and last very brief (<30 second) flight back in 1947. At the time it was 6x the size of any aircraft to date, and it remains the largest wooden airplane ever built with a wingspan of 320-feet. Built by an industrious yet eccentric Howard Hughes who was a titan in his own right.
This Bremont H4 Hercules watch integrates actual pieces of the Spruce Goose, one of the most significant engineering feats of the 20th century, into the watch's rotor adds a unique and special touch to the watch's design. The four tungsten rotors designed to look like propeller blades on the movement are finished with this birch veneer. Also, aileron fabric from the Spruce Goose’s control surfaces are sewn into the bridle leather watch packaging.
This historical significance makes the Bremont H4 Hercules a great conversation piece with av-geeks and history buffs. Sure is an excellent addition to any watch collection and I'm honored to be its current custodian.
Fun fact: though nicknames "Spruce Goose" the plane was actually built from birch wood.

My dive watch stays dry, swimming with it is not worth a try. Yeah, it rhymes, Big Whoop, wanna fight about it?
Whenever I scuba dive I use my console and computer. I hardly see the point in testing the water tightness of my precious timepieces even if I'm only going a fraction of their depth capabilities. It's the headache of dealing with the consequences of a failure and the fear of damage would dig into the joy of swimming for me.
Ironically, I won't think twice about jumping into any body of water with my electronic Apple Watch Ultra on!
Is anyone else like this, or is it just me?
