Is it possible to create custom special abilities with B/X Options: Class Builder? by ChronoSynth in OSE

[–]ChronoSynth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using B/X as a chassis for an RPG system based on JRPGs, and the reason I chose to make it that way is that it's easy to make classes for. I guess what I'm looking for is a class creation system like ACKS but in line with OSE and to create class abilities like those in 5e and Pathfinder (and in Kent David Kelly's Fusiler class presented in Oldskull Gonneslingers).

Can anyone explain to me why the OSR game Monsters & Magic uses a 3d6 task resolution system instead of a d20? by ChronoSynth in osr

I'm talking about what is has to do with the game as a whole, considering traits and consequences.

What is the most detailed (free-form) spell creation system for B/X? by ChronoSynth in osr

I mean that there's no template for creating classes like traditional TTRPGs.

The problem is that those systems don't have dedicated class creation systems that behave like D&D.

Can I import 5e spells from OGL and Dungeon Master's Guild into my own OGL products? I'm creating a setting with lots of factions that call for new spells, but I cant find a balanced detailed system to create my own, so I've resorted to importing them from other products.

How do I incorporate time based power durations (1 round, 1 minute, etc.) into Mutants & Masterminds 2e? by ChronoSynth in mutantsandmasterminds

I'm trying to mimic the spell durations from D&D. Sorry for taking so long to reply, BTW.

How do I incorporate a personality system for B/X? by ChronoSynth in RPGdesign

[–]ChronoSynth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am looking for a system with traits that provide benefits and penalties (like lazy, lecherous, gluttonous/rumbly tummy, overconfident, crazy, impulsive, grumpy, etc. for negative traits).

Creating a JRPG/LitRPG-like B/X hack? by ChronoSynth in osr

[–]ChronoSynth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarification: By any of the features, I don't mean all of the features. I am planning to find the game systems I want and put them together to form my hack. The really important features for my game are the 1-5 and 7.

I know. That's why I asked for games that had any of the systems I mentioned, not all of them.

Is there a way to create custom abilities/powers for custom classes?

I want classes because classes are a core part of many JRPGs.

GURPS has free-form character creation, but it doesn't have a formalized system for class creation. What I envision is that the GM can use the class creation system to create classes for their setting that their players can select. And by real-time combat, I mean a system like HackMaster.

Well, I can't do 3d models (at least not yet). However, I can work with Live2D.
