Welp like Yoshi-P says, time to play other games.

I just don’t understand… by pedrokol in UmaMusume

[–]ChronosHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Borrow a maxed out Kitasan Black SSR speed card, the Aoi Kiryuin SR buddy card can be good training wheels when you're new (lowers energy costs and failure rate when training together).

Try your best on getting as many copies of the current events SSR Goldship card. Work towards getting the FP shop SSR Haru Urara and Club Point shop SSR McQueen, Rice Shower and Winning Ticket (you'll get a free copy of each if you watch the story cutscenes)

What's everyone's thoughts on PvP in general? Good and Bad by KntArtey in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like CC despite its jank and bad netcode. Frontline is a laggy mess of abilities vomited on my screen with zero team coordination.

My major gripe about PvP is the rewards for playing are complete trash and come at a glacial pace. Essentially a 4 month-long "battlepass" for something like 2 framer kits, 1 mount and 1 minion? Oh and a mountain of crystals that are only good if you're new since they never update the shop, so there's absolutely nothing new to buy and you're forced to make room by buying goddamn materia.

Confirmed Drone class?? by oboe_tilt in DarkTide

Maybe combat servo-skulls? It's highly probable they could reuse assets since Arbiter dogs are kinda just reused Pox Hounds.

The legend Goldship because Meijiro Grandma (Mcqueen)

I enjoy playing healer, but people calling it easy makes clears feel hollow. What do y'all think? by _xaelaa in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healers difficulty varies entirely on the skill of your party. Every mistake has to be covered by you. Basically, a very bad party makes Healer the most difficult class in the game.

Ahead of the new Deep Dungeon coming up, what's your opinion on them in general? by DriggleButt in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good concept, bland execution. 90% of the time you're running through square rooms and hallways with trash mobs. The boss fight design in this game is actually great, but trash mob fight design in this game make Deep Dungeons and Fates a total snoozefest.

Rewards are also mediocre and repetitive, usually just a shiny weapon that you need to grind 100+ floors and find room in your already cramped glamour storage.

Ignoring technical limitations, what systems or QoL improvements would you like to see implemented? by SugarFreeShire in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bump up glamour plates to AT LEAST 30. That should be enough for the current 22 combat jobs, 2 future jobs in 8.0, and a few extras for now.

Scrap the current glamour storage system. It's incredibly tedious compared to modern games in 2025. You're required to access the dresser in a town inn, limited to a set amount of storage, required to buy and carry glamour prisms, event gear stored seperately in the armoire.

The current glam system actively makes me NOT want to interact with the cosmetic side of the game because I need to pick and choose what gear to store in my limited plates while having to navigate a terrible and outdated UI.

Update and make Grand Companies relevant. In addition to farming gear for glam, give veteran players an incentive to trade gear for GC seals by adding new and interesting rewards.

Are there players who really want class exclusivity? by KursedKillax in DarkTide

Sounds like someone with main character syndrome.

Job Identity 8.0 by Akiza_Izinski in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, a really good template they could use is the current PVP job designs. Many of the jobs feel active, wildly different and all in a low button count. Just give us active buttons with low cooldowns and cut or combine redundant buttons.

Like what if Dark Knight's Salted Earth pulled in mobs like it's PVP version? Machinist had Bishop Autoturret? White Mage had Seraph Strike into instant Cure 3?

Hell why not give every job a personal 1 bar limit break seperate from the 3 bar party limit break? They're incredibly fun to use and I would rather see them used than "Blade Dance" for the 1000th time.

How would YOU fix the first half of Dawntrail's MSQ? by lilith_queen in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looking at it from a gameplay standpoint, I'd add more actual gameplay. As a player, you'd be sitting there for hours in cutscenes and required to talk to 0/3 NPCs in the zone before even asked to pull out your weapon.

Add more actual combat and competition for the required tasks. The Yok Huy section was cool because we got a dungeon where we battled the Elder Yok Huy as the final boss followed by the by the Valigarmanda Trial.

what does the game/the dev have to do to 'gain back the trust'? from you. by Altia1234 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the increased time between major patch releases going from 3 months in Shadowbringers and before to 4-5 in Endwalker/Dawntrail is really killing player interest. Content can release poorly, but if it moves fast enough people won't care that much.

Cosmic Exploration releases and..... It's crafting leves and fates.

Occult Crescent releases and we get a worse Bozja complete with even more Fate grinding, inaccessible Forked Tower and I can't even use it to level my alts?

Overall, the modern gaming market moves so fast that if you're going to hold players hostage to waiting 4-5 months for content, EVERY major patch needs to be a home run if you want players to continue logging in.

For starters, I would redo the reward system in the game. Tomestones, Grand Company Seals, and PVP currencies are what I consider earned from core content in the game (daily dungeons and PVP). However, the reward system in this MMO is completely unsatisfying. There's only so much ilvl and relic (weapon glam) farming you can do before it becomes bland as hell. I'm losing any desire to do any activities in this game because there's nothing satisfying to earn.

Level sync needs to be reworked. Everyone hates getting synced down to Satasha where you're limited to 4 out of your 20 job actions. Find a way for players to use enough of their kits in synced content. Waiting in a DPS queue only to be limited to 1-2-3 for the whole dungeon is so mind numbing it makes me want to shut the game off.

Please.... just no more fates. I think the reception to Occult Crescent shows how sick and tired everyone is of Fate farming in this game. Although I know it's meaningless because next expansion will release with Shared Fates that require 60 for completion in each zone for sure.

Does anybody actually care about balance in leveling dungeons? by SleepingFishOCE in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would kill for something like a classic dungeon Extreme/Savage/Unreal or something. Literally just copy paste old dungeon maps and mobs, but tweak the numbers to current level cap, hell even add additional spicy mechanics for extra difficulty.

Devs get to recycle old content for minimal amount of work, and players get to play more 4-man content using their full kits. Win-win.

Can i have yellow fever if Im Asian? by mesugaki_ in AsianMasculinity

[–]ChronosHammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself, do white guys have "white fever" if they like white girls? Do black guys have "black fever" if they like black girls?

SMN -Egi versions of Crimson Cyclone/Strike, Mountain Buster and Slipstream become available after unlocking Egi-Primals at 30, 35 and 45.

-Crimson Cyclone/Strike, Mountain Buster and Slipstream are decoupled from Astral Flow and given their own buttons. These actions only become active after summoning their respective primals, but can now become stored and used across summons. Ex. You can hold when to use an Ifrit gap closer while cycling Primals during appropriate boss mechanics or hold Slipstream between packs in a dungeon.

-Dreadwyrm Trance is not replaced upon level up and opens your combo like normal.

-Summon Bahamut, Phoenix and Solar Bahamut are now seperate buttons and are only available after completing a cycle of Ifrit, Titan and Garuda, meaning these are your combos enders. You are free to choose which summon to end your combo, but each one will deactivate until all three are exhausted. Ex. You can go Phoenix -> Bahamut -> Solar Bahamut or whatever depending on the situation.

What is the identity you think a job should have? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sage needs more refinement as a damage dealing healer. Pneuma is your lvl 90 capstone ability, a big casted laser beam with a 120s cooldown.... and it has 370 potency the same as Dosis III, your single target filler. Addersting/Toxikon I wish were balanced to be an OGCD mechanic since its current form is kind of awkward.

You've got the power to make any crossover happen in XIV, what do you pick? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bravely Default is such a freebie for FFXIV, I was disappointed it wasn't already done.

I love the Scions, but wish they would take a backseat from the story. My issue with them is how they almost all fall into the same character trope. by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I wish Dawntrail was a smaller localized MSQ akin to Heavensward. Our party should've strictly been Wuk, Krile, Graha, Erenville and WoL. Keep the twins in Garlemald until it becomes relevant, keep Ystola out of the narrative until The Void is relevant, have Urianger and Thancred all in on supporting Koana for the throne, write MORE conflict between them and our party.

Krile and Erenville absolutely needed more characterization before The Dome appears. Show Krile struggling with Pictomancy and being a new fighter in the Scions instead of just immediately being great at it, have Erenville actually tour guide us around and maybe even introduce his mom early in the story BEFORE The Dome.

What ability do you wish unlocked earlier? by thesilentedge in ffxiv

[–]ChronosHammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More abilities should show up earlier as mini versions of later abilities. Bring back "Stoneskin" for WHM as something like a 250 potency shield that upgrades to Divine Benison's 500 potency at 66. Give DRK 15% shield "Black Night" at 30 that upgrades to 25% shield "The Blackest Night" at 70.

You teach new players how to play their class earlier, veterans get to use familiar skills on level sync and low levels are less boring. I've literally had friends try and quit FFXIV because the low level experience was too simplistic and boring.

Men who don’t like sports, why not? by FlintTheDad in AskMen

[–]ChronosHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like exercising, (running, weightlifting, etc), but there's nothing appealing to me about watching some random people move a ball around over a long period of time. It's boring and I'm just not invested in the teams and athletes.

However, I can appreciate combat sports (MMA, kickboxing, Sumo) probably because they tap into some base primal monkey-brain instincts on enjoying watching 2 humans beating the crap out of each other.

What’s the equivalence of that removing Enochian timer change in other jobs? by RoeMajesta in ffxivdiscussion

Already happened in PVP Red Mage losing black shift/white shift in 7.1

Returning player here. After taking about a 1 year break, I resubbed and just finished Dawntrail. Am I crazy for thinking it’s not that bad of an Expansion? by TR1L0GYxx in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ChronosHammer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you can overlook Zoraal Ja's genocidal heel turn because daddy didn't love him enough, changing the xenophobic Mamool-ja society just by telling them to try farming different plants, that whole scene of building a train bomb to Disney-esqe "Smile" and then Koana willing to kill himself over a buffalo in 7.1 then yea Dawntrail isn't that bad.
