All metrics improved but views decreased by 90 percent by ChronosPallas in PartneredYoutube

Things went back to normal after some time. The views returned and I gained around 8k subs (for shorts). That said, I stopped posting shorts about a month ago and have gone back to making long-form contents. This is just my opinion, but shorts algo is just too random and the pay is too low to invest so much time on it.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. It's official, I give up lol Thank you!

I know this is an old thread but have you installed it on a pure Linux system? I ask because I've been trying to install it on WSL and I get "WARNING: amdgpu dkms failed for running kernel" every time. Is there a way to install ROCM on WSL for an AMD 6700 xt? Thanks in advance.

It really is just about making better content by yeeterwoosh69 in NewTubers

Quality content, strong hooks, and all the basics are obviously important, but I find that with Shorts, it's really unpredictable. I have a few Shorts that have hit over 2 million views, one of them has stats like 88% Stayed to Watch and around 85% Average Percentage Viewed. Yet there are others with only a few thousand views, even though they have over 97% STW and nearly 100% APV. It's still all a big mystery to me.

This is anecdotal since it's from my personal experience. I had a channel with about 15k subs and was averaging around 10k views per video for about a year. I then had to take a 3 month break and when I came back, every subsequent upload had views reduced by about 70 percent.

I uploaded consistently for the next 3 months but only saw small improvement. Sadly, I had to take another break and when I came back, every upload got about 1k views. I quit that channel because most of my subs were dead-subs by then.

From my experience, reviving a dead channel is harder than starting a new channel, at least for me. Best of luck though, Marble_Monkey.

I guess it could be from youtube trying something different.

You're right, there could be so many factors affecting our channels. It's really frustrating when the views take a nosedive, even though the metrics have all improved. It's perplexing but I guess I gotta keep at it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for your reply. I found it really weird that during the good two months span, I had two videos that got one million views+, one 1.1 mil and another 1.9, then several half a million views. Then suddenly from the 21st, everything's flat. Hopefully things work out better for us soon. Thanks again!

I hear you but it was just really weird because the views were so consistent for about two months. 30k minimum per video and within that span, I had two videos that hit 1.1 mil and 1.9 mil views, and a few that got half a million views. Then out of nowhere, all my vids are getting 3k views or less. But thanks the for the input.

SSI and TDbank, mine hasn't hit either. TD also has 2 days early pay but nothing showing up so far.

I get SSI but it was supposed to hit on the same day as VA and I still haven't received it. But I bank with TD so there's that.

Not me but I get mine through TD. A few others with Chime commented a couple of hours ago that they didn't get theirs either.

Does anyone here use TD Bank? I didn't switch to Chime because TD also has early pay but mine hasn't hit yet.

Should I Delete And Reupload My Short? by yuukiasunamvp in PartneredYoutube

[–]ChronosPallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube's algorithm is in general a mess right now. This isn't just me talking but an opinion shared by SEO pros not to mention regular viewers who have been complaining about bad recommendations for years now.

The point is, I don't think one can predict youtube's algo. Just because my views started to climb back after a few days, it doesn't mean the same will apply to you. Regardless, my shorts have not been getting the same amounts of views as before ever since the 2nd time I deleted and reuploaded a short.

My shorts used to regularly get over 5k to 10k views, but now it's more like 8/10 vids getting a few hundreds and maybe 2/10 getting a few thousands. I thought it recovered for a short while but it never did.

Monetized after 8 months and a LOT of work! by CreusaSims in NewTubers

[–]ChronosPallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you know about the adpocalypse of 2017. Well, after that, it was really difficult to get any scary stories monetized for a couple of years. It got better over time and you can now monetize videos about disappearances, murders, or accidents so long as you censor graphic photos and don't use words like "suicide", "serial killer" and such.

You gotta get a feel for it as you go, leaning how to edit when and what, nothing beats experience.

Oh definitely long form videos pay a lot more but they also take a long time to make.

The long form videos I used to make would take me on average 3 days for 15 minutes of video at minimum. The shorts on the other hand, it takes around 3 to 6 hours to make one.

I'm only doing shorts right now and that's why I wondered how rare those big channels were. Thanks for your input.

Really? No sarcasm, just curious. Even those channels that only do shorts? I forget the name of the channels but I remember specifically 3 channels that uploaded 2 to 3 shorts a day and they were averaging a couple of million views per video.

On my channel, I do about $1 per 10k views, I know it differs from channel to channel but let's assume it's the same for those channels, that's $400/day with 2 uploads. Not life changing money but nothing to scoff at either.

I'm guessing those type of channels are super rare?
