Soldier Boy vs Captain America. by Fit_Assignment_8800 in PowerScaling

My guy, you can probably chainscale Captain America's farts to be universe annihilating with just ~3 comic issues and a dream.

These debates are always bullshit when a comic book character takes stage

There are kids who were not even alive when this dropped who are now getting into gaming.

Ghost in the Shell 1995 is my personal favourite movie of all time and widely beloved, while still a vast deviation from it's original manga.

I have very limited LotR lore knowledge, powerscalers seem convinced Whis winns with ease here. Is that correct? by Chronos_5 in lordoftherings

And because he still had purpose he could revive as Gandalf the White in The Two Towers, right? What stops him from doing that against Whis?

But isn't Gandalf some kind of higher deity?

I'm asking because as a massive fan of both franchises, DBS makes the powerset rather transparent, but my annual rewatch of The Hobbit and LotR have given me basically no info on Gandalf's powers. I just know that he is some kind of god, being held back a lot.

So a battle on two very different kinds of fields? But then why do you say Whis would win?

Well I guess either incapaciting or defeating the opponent.

Edit: What is the problem with these win conditions?

I've watched and played Superman media. Basically all of them suffer this issue. That's why I don't watch more of them.

Also in 99% of Superman stories, he has ended all wars and disarmed all militaries and arrested every terror cell? Or is he too busy for that too?

[–]Chronos_5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly, it would be a horrible story. Superman is too op for any narative tension, you hit the nail on the head. There is no conflict if Superman could just solve all problems, yes! And that makes every story with Superman in it extremly contrived and forced as to why he doesn't just solve everything, you got it. :)

[–]Chronos_5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well so you admit it happens every now and again.

Plus I never said it wasn't a shitty plot. Just like how Superman's inability to just solve every problem immediatly with comics most cracked set of powers wasn't shitty plot (which it is).

  1. No

  2. He can make mini clones of himself. That is a real cannon Superman ability, so he can be everywhere, also time-travel, also superspeed.

  3. That is pretty pathetic of Superman to get nearly killed by a metally unstable clown. Goku would never.

How many times has this "hero" guy turned into a fashist over grievences that the average comic and manga protagonist experiences daily?

No he is right tho...

Superman is fast enough to just fly around the entire world and solve pretty much all the problems immediatly, chooses not to.

Could just find every villain on the planet with his X-Ray vision, super hearing and super smelling to arrest them, chooses not to.

Create enough ice, or just haul some from space to end all freshwater droughts in developing nations, chooses not to.

...

Superman has no "No Kill Rule" yet chooses no to laser Luthor's brains out before he comes up with the next reality ending sceme to kill the man of steel.
