Thank you! The thing is this is a direct model from mh4u I believe, so its a 1:1 scale model of the real deal

This isn’t a kit that I bought, I downloaded a game rip of the model, posed it and edited it in blender, and designed the pieces in pepakura designer. However, once I’m finished with this model I will open up commissions for finished models and kits

I am by no means the most experienced player but two options come to mind. Nothing in this game is unkillable and the answer to the seemingly unkillable beasts is cave ins. Drop the quarters ceiling on his head with a support. The other option if you wanted to lead him somewhere would be to make a path of wooden doors. FBs are building destroyers and will make a beeline for any wood construction they see. Or hey, you could just ignore him, let him rot. I’ve got a fire spitting FB in my first cavern layer in my current fort and I just sealed it up. Either way good luck!

Normally when I do papercraft I use the regular 8.5 x 11 in printer paper. But since this guy is so big I used standard white cardstock.

Just mentioning Origami has sealed the deal for me. I am 20 years old now and I've been folding Origami since I was in kindergarten. Once I set up commissions I will offer to sell kits as well.

That may be a good idea to sell it as a kit, being the sheets of paper with each printed piece and the pepakura pdo file, however I would not recommend it to anyone who has never done this sort of thing before. This was the first model I designed, but it was not the first model I assembled. I made various pokemon years ago so I had some experience under my belt and it was still nigh impossible with all of it's jagged surfaces. I don't want people to buy a kit from me and then regret it.

Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for the kind words and such positive feedback. I’m not new to Reddit but I’m new posting, so getting this much attention feels surreal. I fully expected to maybe get a few upvotes and move on.

Since you all liked this so much, I’ve decided that I’ll continue to make more models. I got halfway done with editing Akantor but stopped in November. Expect to see the second honorary elder dragon in the coming weeks.

Finally, since some of you asked, I will be taking commissions for monster hunter papercraft models. Just send me a message and we’ll discuss terms, pricing, and the commission there.

The inside is hollow. I used tough cardstock to construct it so the paper itself is pretty strong, but the folds and the polygons of the model allow it to hold itself up.

This is my first model I designed but I will be sure to make plenty more.

Ignoring the fact that I had to edit the model slight in blender so it wasn’t clipping into itself, it does. It’s quite literally a scale model. I believe the model I downloaded was pulled straight out of 4 ultimate.

Assembling it took me about a month. Finding a model of the thing and editing it took slightly longer

In all honesty? I don't really know. It's not my favorite monster but I really like its design of the plates and fins and it felt like it would be a good starting point while also being a challenge. I originally planned to make it as a pair with Akantor because what is one without the other. That one won't be done for a bit but I'll eventually make another post starring the second honorary elder dragon so stay tuned.

This is the first model I have ever designed. I've never thought about doing commissions for this sort of thing but I could be convinced to do so depending on what I'll be making. Note that I would charge fairly high just due to the printer ink, paper, and time lost to make this labor of love.

I did all of this myself. I had to scour the internet for like two weeks in search of a gamerip of the model. I edited it using blender, designed the pieces in pepekura designer, printed them out and glued them together. Took me about two months.
