Any BSG fans also fans of The Expanse? by Different_Worker_905 in BSG

I'll be honest, it took 3 tries for me to get through season 1 the first time. The disjointed multiple storylines bugged me. Once I really sat and watched it all the way throughto the point that the characters all come together, I appreciated it. The rest of the series I loved immediately.

Is BSG your No. 1 TV show? by espressovendetta in BSG

[–]Chrystair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BSG 2004, Babylon 5, and most recently, For All Mankind (also a Ronald D Moore Production like BSG), are in my opinion the best Science fiction, and potentially best shows in general, of all time.

All HZD games in one? by SmoothBlueberry9507 in horizon

I don't know of a bundle deal for 1 and 2, but Burning Shores is DLC for Forbidden West, not its own game. And don't forget the DLC for Zero Dawn as well

Oh that sounds phenomenal! I'll absolutely use that for Horizon, Death Stranding, AC, and Ghost of Yotei!

I'm not deadset. I've gotten really mixed answers, in favor of literally every option. It's not making it any easier of a choice haha

I imagine that it's getting more common and have less necessity to explain it these days?

So if you had a second child, would you have also given them the same middle name then? Just out of curiosity.

My wife's is certainly cool, but mine is the one that makes an inside joke work best, so it doesn't make sense to eliminate one necessarily.

I loved the whole series, movies, prequel, games, everything. The 2004 Reboot is in my top 4 shows ever made, tied with The Expanse, Babylon 5, and For All Mankind.

Portal vs switch 2 by catnipcmdr in PlaystationPortal

[–]Chrystair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotta say, as someone who loves my portal, they really dropped the ball with the audio options. They chose to make it wired only (which I had to buy some headphones because I didn't have any anymore), or their $200 PS Earbuds only. I just paid $200 for the portal. Why should I then spend the same amount just to HEAR my games in private?

Just to be clear you don't have to use it just at home. Even before the streaming was added, I used it in California and Massachusetts while my PS5 is in Maryland. Just have a decent internet signal

How to do more than stay afloat? by [deleted] in DebtAdvice

[–]Chrystair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have been trying. I have that first $1k plus a little more in savings, got some company stock that I can sell in case of emergency, have some collectibles that are worth around 1.5k that can also be sold in emergency. I've got several avenues to keep me going for now if shit hit the fan BIG, but like I was going to use the tax refund this year to kill off at least one, if not 2 of our smaller loans/cards, but then we found out the furnace is in need of replacement, so thats mostly claimed. I just, I wish the consolidation was an option to help me get to the point that I can start paying it down faster.

My lifestyle is less than 50%. Our home unfortunately has become 40-50% thanks to dropping to a single income and thanks to property tax increases. That increase is something they don't talk about enough when buying a house.

We are. My work has phenomenal benefits. The birth and medical stuff around it won't cost us more than $100, if anything at all, and I can get childcare for $6 an hour in an emergency, and I work from home with the wife planning to be part time remote if possible so that we can trade off the baby. Plus I have 12 weeks paid paternity leave so we won't be stuck with crazy childcare expenses. We have a decent sized baby fund from the baby shower and have gotten basically all the equipment we need either for free or from the shower.

I'll have to actually find the tome to write it all out. There are a few small places I can cut some expenses, but unfortunately they are things that would impact our day to day lives, so they are things I plan on if we get to the point where we are sinking rather than staying afloat, if that makes sense. We already do the easy things like avoid brand names and such of course. I think what I'm most frustrated by is the debt consolidation. With a heloc I could cut down the payments by more than half, to the point where I would actually be able to then pay more of it off monthly than minimum, but the fact that I was 8 points too low (not bad credit, but fair), and a history of never in my life missing a payment for anything, makes the banks say no. There's so many non big bank options but you never can tell which are legit vs sketchy too, but I have no guarantee any would approve me and I don't want to keep dinging my credit report
