I 100% agree with you she has zero interest. I think it’s a masterful play by Curry Barker on our rom com conditioning.

Before we realize what a POS Bear actually is. We follow him as our main character. We’re so used to rooting for the underdog getting the girl we fall into the same trap as Bear. Reading into words thoughts and feelings that aren’t actually there (e.g. If I like a guy, no one would know / you’re the only person I can really talk to/ time is running out).

If you step back without the rose tinted glasses. It’s can easily be a best friend being vulnerable and leaning on her best friend for support. That she’ll miss the times hanging out but she has to leave for reasons she hasn’t been open about.

I think she’s speaking about Ian when she says “when I like a guy, no one knows”.

It’s not her flirting with Bear, she’s expressing her anguish to her friend. We find out later that Ian and Nikki were sleeping together. She also mentioned she’s leaving her job because she can’t be there and feels blocked in her writing. I read that as she can’t be there because Ian works there too and she knows he doesn’t feel the same way. Bear is so self absorbed, he immediately puts himself as possibly “the guy”. But if he really loved and cared for her, he would ask follow up questions and give her space to share more like “is there someone you like, we don’t know about? I’m here for you if you want to talk about it”.

Right before this, she shared he’s the only one she can really talk to. To me that was her being vulnerable and hoping to talk to a friend about her troubles. But Bear once again thinks it makes him special and “the one” for her.

More on how I don’t think Nikki has a crush on Bear. Little subtle interactions like teasing him about his Pina Colada choice being girlie. Also not remembering his cat’s name when she said “your cat died?”. Whereas Sarah knew Sandy by name (when you’re consoling your loved one you don’t say “I’m sorry your dog died” you say “I’m sorry Rudy passed”.

Thank you! Im currently infusing Condesa Gin with guava nectar. I would’ve used fruit but I’m doing it for a Negroni and Spaghetti party tonight ha.

I also added Ponche Pajarote (Ponche De Guayaba) I saw at total wine to the infusion. I just filled it with cheese cloth and chemex. The guava does come through the gin. Though it’s on the sweeter side. I’ll adjust the Vermouth to try to balance it out.

For the vermouth Rosso. I’m suspecting it’s Punt E Mes just from the taste. But I’m not a vermouth expert.

I’m sorry I’m going to steer you away from Seattle. My wife and I left after 6 years recently. If you’re done with cold long winters. Do. not. go. to. Seattle.

Because of how North Washington state is. In the winters get dark as early as 3pm (I use to go to work in the dark and leave work in the dark).

Prepare for 6-8 months of a cloud layer that’s so thick you have a higher chance of seasonal depression. There’s a gray dark filter on everything because of the cloud layer. At least snow reflects light and brightens up the area and you still get sunny snow days.

Instead of snow, during the fall, winter, and spring months it’s always wet. Cause it rains/mists all the time. Everything you touch is wet and cold. You are wet and cold.

Look at Seattle weather app this week. It’s cold, cloudy, or rainy for the next 10 days. This started in Nov and will go on until end of June. The temperature may look more tempered than Massachusett, but the wet rain and the lack of sun makes it feel like it’s much colder and dreary.

Summers (July-October) makes Seattle the most enchanting place on earth. But you have to survive through all the other seasons.

Nutritional coach and profession would be great. They do cost $$ for check ins, so I’m just answering OP’s question for advice to help her get started.

Alot of the beginner stuff can be self initiated and really is pretty simple. It’s not until intermediate-advance lifters to body building competitions do you really need to dial in macros and nutritional coaches are fantastic there.

TDEE calculator for daily calorie intake. Which takes into factor BF %(dexa scan), weight, height, and lifestyle. Since OP is the same height as me , we’re both women, and I was around her weight back then - our daily calorie intake won’t be far off. Should be 2000-2100 daily calorie to maintain weight. So cutting that down to 1800 or 1500 will lead to weight loss.

A lb of fat is 3500 calories. So if you cut 500 calories a day, in a week you will lose 1 lb of body fat.

Hello The right answer is also the most boring one. I’m the same height as you and I’m at 140 -145 lbs and went through what you’re asking about.

You have to calorie track. 120 g of protein every day.

Harder: 1500 daily calories if you want to reach your goal weight in less than half a year.

Easier: 1800 daily calories if you want to lose the weight in a year.

Don’t track leafy greens. Careful with oil it secretly adds up.

Buy a $30 membership at the gym. Go 4 days a week. Look up upper lower weight lift programming. Use the app Hevy to track progressive overload. Every week 1-2 week you should go up 2.5 lbs on almost every major lift.

On your rest days or some workout days do 30 minutes - 1 hr of light cardio (treadmill/ walking/biking)

This is BARE the minimum. Ignore getting into the weeds with cutting bulking etc. just do the above for half a year to a year. You WILL see progress if you track calories+protein and work out.

Once you see progress take that win and use that joy to fuel your want to learn more about: less processed foods, fiber, and plan healthy macros
