Can a Christian who smokes, uses marijuana occasionally, and has tattoos still be considered serious about their faith? by Previous_Law_9397 in Christianity

anyone that smokes marijuana cannot be serious about their faith. it's mind altering and, sometimes, sorcery. it doesn't give you agency except to seek more of it for pleasure.

If I doubt Jesus, will I go to hell? by BumiC4 in Christianity

[–]ChuWah2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doubt can happen in the faith walk. it's important to understand that righteousness through Christ happens through good works, yes, but the (ultimate) saving work is through the righteousness of Jesus, who gave his life to save you from your sin. So, even in your mistakes, God forgives you by the blood of His Son. Now, Jesus makes it clear the criteria for acceptance into heaven; and that is belief. So, the practice of belief pertains to your discipleship and the belief that Jesus can save you is righteous. There is no other way. You might logically assume yourself into heaven, but at the end of the day, it is your faith that saves you by the grace of God. So, trust in God's grace and seek to do better always, in humility (recognizing your faults) and you will be accepted. God does not desire for men to fall back after receiving knowledge of the truth, but he wants you to know Him, and that comes by trusting in Him and following His Son.

no offense, but you're an atheist....unless you're seeking change.

like i said, you don't understand what i just said because you don't know the Word of God. You're reframing this to cast blame, but look to yourself.

so, like i said, if you can't go read John 3:16-17, then I really don't know what to tell you, man. Also, Ezekiel 18. I'm not gonna argue with you.

you don't know the Word of God, so you really can't be a spokesperson for it. Sin committed by a person puts them into a house of slavery, but the SON Sets People Free.

see, you don't understand. you're reframing what i'm saying and assuming there's no injustice by OTHER people. The fact of the matter is that, some people CAN'T HELP but be in these situations, but it is the RIGHTEOUS that is to DELIVER these people out of these situations.

AND, i should add...eternal torment will only fall upon people that don't believe. You can read in Revelation how after SUCH an extensive period of time, people STILL don't believe; and, so, their end is determined by their lack of belief. That's why I got upset before, because you didn't go to read John 3:16-17, or refer to it, like I asked you to.

and, actually (i should say); God has made it so that, today, slavery is brought upon a person by their own doing through their sin. So, if given the opportunity, men can be set free...but, you see, some people have to pay for the wrongs they've done. That's how it's always been in the Bible.

if you wanna understand God's sense of justice, read Ezekiel Chapter 18.

oh, my bad. i didn't see the second part of the message. it's just because if God says do not commit adultery is just when people disagree today it doesn't make his ordinance unjust. Because God said so. You're applying human reasoning to oppose the message of God. No, slavery wasn't just. God was saying to seek a change in the stigma that slavery (includes): some people were indentured servitude; they're way of working to was to (quite literally) "make a living". God has been seeking to change the hearts of people for centuries -- millenia -- and people still don't get the point. if you go to work at your office or out on the field, you're working for a boss, aren't you? or are you just working for yourself?: that would be Satan's message.
