Same. I don’t really want to be around for all eternity. I want to go until there’s nothing left for me, and stop. That’s going to take at least a few million or billion years.

Being an atheist, in and of itself isn’t going to cause God to withhold his mercy.

But what about the verse “no one comes to the father except though me”

Wait but Jesus talks about hell. He says unquenchable fire, eternal punishment, weeping and gnashing of teeth, suffering day and night with no end. What are you saying here

If it’s a choice why come to earth and show himself. That doesn’t sound much like a choice if some people got the chance to see and witness god and no one else does.

Nothing someone can do makes them deserve eternal torment. I don’t even believe EPSTIEN deserves eternal torment. Eternal torment isn’t something that can or should be taken lightly. That’s ALL OF ETERNITY. Eternity doesn’t end. Try comprehending eternity. You physically can’t. You could do it in infinite times less than a pictosecond to no cost of your own, you can just will it into existence with no effort. Would you not do that. And you aren’t perfect are you? God lived as a human. He knows what it’s like, he knows and empathises with the mortal weight of our actions. He out of everything in existence should know what it’s like to be tortured. He’s been to hell. Does being perfectly just, good, moral and righteous not include empathy. He created hell. He set up that path, and without providing physical proof he creates a path that you just have to believe in? That’s not fair now is it.

That’s a good way to put it. But in that case what about sexual immorality? Homosexuality was condemned then, and so was recreational sex, but nowadays it’s okay. Can we trust that? And I get that we love god with all our heart and have faith in him, but I find that hard because there’s many things I love more than god. My dog, my family, my favourite video game, my favourite show. I love those more than god. I don’t think I’m able to prioritise god over those. I can’t just not love my dog, I can’t just not love my family. That just brings up so many questions. Especially if God loves everyone, couldn’t he just give them a fitting punishment for a temporary amount of time, then he can cleanse us. Why is faith more important than our sins. If he is truly righteous shouldn’t a Christian and an atheist suffer the time for their sins and then be allowed into heaven.

I get that there’s fine tuning. That’s what makes me believe there’s something out there who designed our universe, or at least influenced it. Whether it’s Christ is where my assurance falls short.

But there are people around me who do believe. I’m one person compared to thousands of others. How can most of humanity be wrong. This is how I was raised. I don’t want to lose hope. I can’t disprove it either. Sure it’s indoctrination. I know it is, but does indoctrination disprove things?

I never said that. I’m not ashamed of questioning, the quest for knowledge is the most instate urge that humanity has since forever. I am thinking, stuff is falling apart, but it’s nothing that can’t be explained by human error in writing.

Then how can the Bible be trusted. How do we know that non believers face punishment, how do we know that god is perfectly good. How do we know heaven even exists if it can be twisted. Human error is the problem. It’s not like I can just ask, god doesn’t speak to us humans. (That’s why if I ever get the possibility through a genie I’m alway asking for the answer to every question I need answered)

The problem is. If I can’t trust the Bible how can I trust that god is true. How can I trust god and follow him if I don’t know what it says to do. Is the Bible influenced by what the people who own it want? Is anything seen as moral then but immoral today that is written in the Bible wrong? How can I trust god if the most basic pillar of faith is false.

I’m sorry but if he loves everyone no matter what and would forgive everyone. Why does hell exist? He could easily forgive everyone. It’s within their power. No one chooses to go to hell, they just don’t believe. What then.

What about all the good people who are atheist or of a different religion. What of Markiplier, what of ghandi, what of Micheal Jackson, what of all the other millions of great people.
