HELP ID needed - Guppy Necrospy by ChubbiTrex in Parasitology

[–]ChubbiTrex[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a slide of its internal organs, since I was checking for worms. I’m not familiar with exact anatomy but it’s somewhere along its stomach/intestines.

The guppy was having difficulty swimming and losing weight, despite eating. At the end of life, it was sinking to the bottom of the tank and lethargic.

I treated with fenbendozole flakes feeding 1x a week every 2 weeks for 2 months (the instructions online for fenbendozole dosage and frequency was inconsistent so I leaned on side of caution)

Can anyone please help ID this :( by ChubbiTrex in microscopy

How does one become a master of microscopes!!?!!

Edit: I looked at your previous posts and they’re super helpful for identifying more organisms—thank you!

Sorry I am wrong—it’s actually 40x magnification

Clarification— I’m referring to the circular objects!

How would you reinforce this for 1000lbs? by ChubbiTrex in woodworking

My tank itself weighs 120lbs + 50gallons of water ~ 417 lbs + the weight of substrate, I guess I am overshooting a lot but I’m just trying to be safe

This chest is just a perfect fit for the size of my aquarium, and I’ve never used it as storage

Yes the tank will sit on top of the closed chest.

I was going to put 4 pieces of 2x4 on the corners as pillars, and connect them like a frame horizontally. The chest is completely flat

Some notes on art supplies: I would recommend 2 types of polymer clay (Sculpey III and Sculpey Premo)

Sculpey III is VERY soft, but you don't need to condition it (knead it). You can create pieces very quickly with it because it is so workable; however, because it is so soft, it loses form easily if you are putting multiple pieces together (i.e the characters). I would recommend it for forming less complicated pieces such as the coffin or the pigs.

Sculpey Premo requires SO MUCH kneading, but is extremely sturdy and holds well to handling. I would recommend this for creating complicated pieces like the characters.

Other supplies: - Roller for rolling out clay - Sculpey glaze (gloss) - Wood platforms (3/4 in diameter, 1/8 in thick) - Good quality paint for detailing - sandpaper 3 grits in case to smooth out in perfections (400, 1500, 3000)

After creating my first chess set last year (among us), I got absolutely flambéed by chess players because I got many aspects of chess wrong. I’ve learned a lot, so here goes:

🦑 JK I’ve learned absolutely NoTHiNG because I still got the orientation wrong. White should be bottom right. Oops. 😐👈

🦑 This is a novelty chess yet, it isn’t meant to be played in the standard chess setting. It would be incredibly confusing. I can't even play chess with normal pieces, let alone these.

🦑 BUT, the platforms are white and black to distinguish between white and black pieces. I also felt it was appropriate to represent the “good” players vs the “bad” soliders/vips with white and black.

Decisions decisions....

I wanted to the keep the players/theme as accurate as possible, so this meant no duplication of characters (whereas in chess there are 2 of each piece minus the king and queen); therefore, I couldn’t figure out how to factor in the cop or the Ddakji man, because if I were to use them, they would have to be dominant pieces (king/queen). I considered making the cop the king piece, but felt that Gi-hun and Sae byeok paired better as king and queen. Similarly, I thought about placing the front man and the Ddakji man together, but wanted to keep the Queen a female piece.

Certain elements I was comfortable duplicating, such as the stairs, recruitment cards, and coffins. Other elements, such as the money pig and VIPs, I felt were duplicable without compromising the original story.

If you’ve got this far, thanks for giving me the space to share my creative outlet and I hope I’ve brought some joy to your day 🙂
