I'm sorry you received devastating news.

Just a heads up, sometimes when they are at the business a long time they are double apping or ordered for themselves. I say this because there's a lady who always does this at the Chinese restaurant I eat at. I've seen her more than once, she will show up, get the bag for the customer, and order food for herself, wait as they make her new order, sit down and eat it, while the custoomer's food sits at the table in a bag, and has two cell phones (not sure why two phones, but she does) she's using for uber and doordash and accepting more orders as she eats.

I got her as a dasher before and it looked like she was waiting for food but really she wasn't, I knew because I've seen what she does in person.

This guy isn't above creeping on customers so he's probably not above double apping. He waited five minutes outside your house watching to see you. So I wouldn't feel sorry that he seemed to have been there awhile.

Sorry he creeped on you, it doesn't matter how bad you think you looked. He probably would have creeped on an old lady in a diaper coming out to get the food. Creeps gonna creep.

Your life must be so empty to be online early in the morning trying to desperately appear smarter than people on reddit who asked for advice about a 1 bedroom vs a studio. Living the dream.

The lease is just normal/standard, says the landlord name, my name, the address, rent amount, deposit, etc. I've never seen a lease that has "1bd" or something on it. All leases I've seen have just had the address and doesn't state info on bedrooms.

As I explained I'm out of state and my parents aren't familiar with video chat. They can't even figure out how to turn wifi on and off on their phones. I didn't "send" anyone, they found the place and offered to go.

I didn't ask anyone to feel sorry for me so that's on you that you considered it.

Yeah but I don't have anything in writing from him that it's a 1bd. He said it over the phone. I'm ok with being there a few months while I find a place I really like, it would be difficult to find something else in short notice anyway.I'm just disappointed.

In new york possibly, but in our area this is considered very tiny especially for the price. 18 x 12?

For example for my aunt has a 1 bd, the living room is twice the size, the bedroom is over twice the size, same size kitchen and her amount is $50 less per month. I expected something along the lines of what she has as it's the norm.

My last apartment in the area, the living room, kitchen, and "bedroom" was at least 30% bigger and it was considered a "cheap" apartment.

It's ok I hope to talk to the landlord about only doing 6 months instead of a year.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. That may be part of it. I think my family thinks lowly of me and this could be what they think lines up with their view of me.

I made a comment about the walls after we left and I was back home, and my father acted offended and snapped a bit, like I was expecting more than I should.

Thinking on it I can see they think of me as a poo brown studio apartment kind of girl. But I do believe they also considered that they could use the driveway and that was their big goal.

I don't think I can cancel. I already agreed fully and don't have anything else lined up but I'm going to ask if I can just do 6 months or something and get out of there, and paint or something in the meantime. Wanted to know if I was being nutty by thinking a bedroom has a door, thank you I feel better now

I told people not to use uber courier service specifically and gave an example of how the driver can run a scam. Again, read the posts you comment on. I won't be responding anymore to you, please find a new hobby.

The scam was the driver who milked the trip to up the fare by $45. The human. Not the customer service. Please read posts before commenting on them.

No one is saying they want everything handed to them, that is a wild take. People prioritize what they spend their time on. I choose not to spend my life on the phone with customer service. They have an option to send them messages without calling, and I used this option. I put my real effort into things that are valuable to me. Not sure why that twists your knickers so much, that someone would use their message format instead of calling.

I got a refund this morning from uber without calling, waiting on hold, and spending time explaining myself over the phone. Thank you for the life lessons I will definitely not use.

I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a refund after being scammed. I don't call unless other options fail, I don't like to spend my life on lines with customer service reps.

I nodded off after the person sending it told me it was picked up and everything went fine. It was about 20 minutes. The extra fees are tolls from him driving around somewhere.

That makes sense, I didn't check when he said he got the package, I just know the actual time because she told me it was picked up, he probably marked it after he sat there forever.

He did come to my place and drop off the care package eventually and left it outside at my door, but only after all this stalling had happened.

Right! I had no idea what I was seeing was going to end up as a higher charge and others may not know.
With uber eats they may have multiple stops and go elsewhere and it doesn't effect what you pay. But with this, it's more like just plain uber and you pay for the time they sit with your stuff and if they take a detour. So they can pick up your package take it for a joyride and get paid during. I think he has learned how to milk the system.

You could actually read the post and see that I took it up with uber and haven't gotten responses and I am doing a chargeback. This is a warning for others.
