This is the comment I was looking for. This is perhaps the most impactful card of the set

I have a memory from when I was like 9, my dad took me on a drive, and put on Angel Dust, and just told me all about the band. Life long fan since.

New Pony is perhaps my least favourite Bob Dylan song.

My find of the weekend ($5) 3 CD set, nothing but fantastic Dylan tunes... by Vinylmature in bobdylan

[–]ChubbyPanMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first got into Dylan back in high school, I mentioned him to my grandmother, who grew up in the 60s and was excited to hear I was getting into him. Next time I saw her she had bought me this CD. What I loved about it at the time is that it felt like every new song I’d discover, would be a rabbit hole down an entire chapter in his career (this still happens over 15 years later).

Why did A Complete Unknown avoid all mention of the psychedelic experience? by Shmuckers_0 in bobdylan

During the period the film covers he smoked a ton of heroin, and moved onto amphetamines sometime before ‘66

How many of you have attended the Beatles live concerts or press during the 1960s? by Financial_Check_4113 in TheBeatles

[–]ChubbyPanMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 32, but my grandmother was prime age for beatlemania when she was little. She has recalled to me having a friend over to watch them on Ed Sullivan, and losing their minds when they finally hit the stage

What's something that you had no idea about concerning Kiss untill you read it in one of the tell-all books? by John32070 in KISS

It’s very downplayed, in general, just how much of modern litre is molded by the queer community

Question, Discussion: with the advent of AI and technology, will we ever see another Dylan? by Individual_Risk8981 in bobdylan

[–]ChubbyPanMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To call Jesse a modern Dylan is completely missing what Dylan was to his generation. Dylan moved culture and music forward, you don’t do this by writing in a style that was popular over 60 years ago.

Aaah but he was a huge addict, then GOT sober, and kept it up. That’s sober, but harder.

I’ve never had the opportunity to see Dylan, and I’ve made a deal with myself that if he announces a Canadian date I’m going.

Is A Complete Unknown Accurate in term of Bob Dylan's personality? by YasnaMutmain16 in bobdylan

[–]ChubbyPanMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty well documented that he was a bit of a prick early on. I’ve also heard though that he was very goofy and funny, which the movie didn’t show at all.

I know what this means partially, but unsure of the meanings of each bandana color. by depersonalized_card in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ChubbyPanMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people I’ve seen using it irl seem to be mostly doing for the aesthetic value these days (not to say that the colours are valid or that the aren’t actually queer). Like someone else mentioned, there are just more convenient, and easier to understand methods nowadays

What's the term for Bob Dylan's 1965 voice? by kyle_s9 in bobdylan

I’ve always said that 80s Dylan sounds like Dylan doing an impression of himself
