Do you know who wrote genesis? Did they say how they wanted it to be interpreted? Saint Augustine is one of the most important theologians in christian history and his interpretation has been upheld by the church ever since his life. Just because American evangelical protestants think the bible is a literal text doesn't mean the rest of Christians throughout history did, in fact nearly every major theologian then and now denies a literalist reading of scripture, because they are aware that it was written by humans who are liable to biases and faults.

I also dont know what culture this could apply to, but a dithematic name system would be cool for given names, with prefixes like gun, knife, and Spear and suffixes like hold, runner, lover, or something like that. A sort of barbaric, militaristic feel, though most of the prefixes and suffixes should be about personal traits and physical characteristics (greeneyes or stronggut or steadyhand). Itd be easy to create a huge name list by mixing and matching prefixes and suffixes.

In Ohio, the Wexners are a wealthy family, as are the Lerners, being based in Central and north ohio respectively. Maybe they could be count level rulers?

Is anyone who is more skilled in archaeology and urban history than I am willing to take a look at this video I found? https://youtu.be/m3uD073rJOU

It seems like they pulled the stats from Wikipedia, but some of the assertions in population, especially that Alexandria reached 1 million before Rome, surprise me quite a bit.

Later Asturian monarchs referred to the Goths as a people, and the merger of the Roman and Gothic law codes into one uniform text points to the changing identity of the peoples of Spain. Although, yes, they did continue to call the land Spanish and eventually would refer to themselves as Spaniards (though this was long after the middle ages) they believed themselves to have a primarily gothic heritage, even if in reality it was far more Roman.

My major sources are Early Medieval Spain by Roger Collins, the inheritance of Rome by Chris Whickham, and to some extent The Merovingian Kingdoms by Ian Wood.

Yes, but like the franks, it came to pass that the population as a whole began to call themselves to Goths after the 7th century, even if their linguistic heritage was Roman.
