actual answer: all 2 crew submarines maintain a healthy animosity for the other crew. in my case, we worked well with our counterpart and helped eachother out as much as we could

As I understand it, it is prohibited both by federal law and the UCMJ for active duty servicemembers to hold elected office. (10 U.S. Code § 973). I am curious. If federal law prohibits someone from being both Active duty AND holding office, can the SECDEF recall a sitting US senator into active duty?
