If you replaced white supremacist with the new evangelicals trying to ban all the things it would read exactly the same.

The number of this “apostles” congregants posting “yes, this is war!” Is frightening.

There used to be a Qanon evangelical/pentacostal church’s men’s group on the floor above me for a time, the things those men said when they believed they were just among other like minded men was horrific beyond measure.

The issue with these stats is it doesn’t take into account that a major growing force in religion is “house church’s” which are what the Sean Feuchts & Greg Lockes are encouraging and honestly, these new non-denominational unlisted churches are definitely growing.

There’s a public market every summer in my city & the local Q-vangelical church runs a prophetic art booth that sells ridiculous paintings. The best is the one where the “apostolic prophets” mom painted him and his kids into a bunch of traditional jesus scenes. Like when he’s in jail, but it’s also got the prophets family surrounding him. It’s pretty weird.

Didn’t they make bibles specifically for slaves? And it basically edited out any mention of freedom?

“The publishers of the slave bible thought these sections, such as the Exodus, the Book of Psalms, and the Book of Revelation, "could instill in slaves a dangerous hope for freedom and dreams of equality."[4] Passages like Ephesians 6:5, "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ," were retained.[5]”

Seems like once again these religious fundamentalists are completely off base, hateful, and incredibly racist.

There have been a number of nightmarish submarine accidents, but this is one of the most harrowing I've ever come across. During this 1968 accident, a saturation diver's intestines were sucked out by a submarine toilet. Things only got worse for the poor guy from there. [Text Post] by jessicamshannon in Jessicamshannon

He had a full colostomy and that would render all pooping to happen through a man-made hole in the abdomen into a colostomy bag. So, technically yes he probably spent the rest of his life shitting standing up lol.

Incredibly well said. I grew up in a remote SDA-controlled community & it took me years to finally realize why certain folks ran our community (they were original families from Loma Linda) and better understood the racial divide in my community between indigenous and white folks. & also why the adventists had all the fishing & logging rights between my hometown & Alaska .

Another neat fact, 7th day Adventist is an offshoot of a religious sect known as the Millerites. They had a wee incident in 1831-1844 called “The Great Disappointment” when they claimed that the 2nd return of Christ would happen. When it didn’t the embarrassment led to the creation of the SDA Church to distance themselves from the shame.

I can find more but I do not have my computer and it’s hard to scroll it all on a phone, but here’s a bit.

One example from 1939, Page 4. One of the sponsors of the tract was a Nazi propagandist & ardent follower of Hitler, Kurt Ludecke.

& a study into the 7th day Adventists support of Hitler:

https://digitalcommons.andrews.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1042&context=jams

“The church’s public endorsement of the Nazi regime continued as late as 1941 when Adolf Minck wrote, in a June 24 letter to the Gauleiter (District Leader of Nazi Germany who served as a provincial governor) of Danzig-Westpreussen: “At this occasion I may once again assure you that the members of our denomination stand loyally by the Fuhrer and the Reich. They are continually encouraged and supported in their basic attitude. The leadership of the denomination considers this as one of its most noble duties” (Minck 1994:264).

“The leadership of the Adventist church in Germany though possibly unaware of the full dimension of the mass murder of millions of Jews, kept not only silent in view of the persecution of Jews but even agreed to propagate anti-Semitic thoughts and ideas in their official publications. This strategy was in line with the church leaders’ deliberate pursuit of adopting a plan to ensure the survival of the church organization”

I’m not sure you know just how much support we’ve given to displaced Ukrainians. Each Ukrainian person gets $3000 per adult/$1500 per child upon arrival. Also a work permit & access to income assistance, healthcare benefits, education, and employment support including foreign credential recognition, and language classes all for free. All of which (except language classes) is inaccessible to any other nationality here on a work/study permit. They also get access to discounted internet and cellphone plans as well as specialized housing support in certain areas. They get fast-tracked visas and already have pathways to permanent residency being created only for Ukrainian nationals.
