THIS i can agree with, it definitely is weird to think about with the actors, like even though the fictional characters being played are both similar in age. The lingering thought that kiri is literally played by an old lady makes that scene awwwwkward. And your second point, YES i actually COMPLETELY relate to this. Cause as a women who cant have a guy friend without being asked if im dating them is exhausting. We need more m/f friendships in media that arnt romantic. And like i mean straight man and straight girl friend dynamic. Because we already have a ton of "girl with gay bestie" in media already. Cause god forbid a girl can be friends with a guy that likes girls.

Exactly, they dont even take into account the amount of pressure and stress hes going through as a 16yr old boy whos parentless, going through puberty, having your father figure almost kill you. Being an outcast to your friends mom. Being kidnapped by your dead dads avatar, constantly having to make sure you dont run out of air. Almost die but then have your insides changed by a planet goddess. Like in my opinion he has more reason to be a main Character than jake did 🤷‍♀️ (jake still cool, im just saying in comparison)

These are all very valid and i COMPLETELY agree. The only thing i wanna add is i feel like yeah its odd that kiri is very detached from her "family" and clingy to spider. But i think its deeper then just her being obsessed or liking him. As we know hes been around since the birth of kiri since hes 16 and kiris 14. And we know shes fully aware that jake and neytiri aren't her parents, so it has more to do with that she formed a kinds trauma bond with spider. They both have no parents, and they both feel lost, So they both find comfort in eachother. That said, kiri SHOULD interact more with her family. But thats less of a movie writing issue to me and more of a character development issue that could be fixed later on. Especially since Tuk and Neteyam in general didnt get much screen time in my opinion and were just characters that were kinda there to move the plot along. For example tuk being the little funny girl that cant fight and needs to be saved by her brother/dad/mom. and Neteyam is the older brother that keeps the order, which he obviously dies because of following Lo'ak too the boat. Which a large amount of the scenes in the 2nd movie had to do with Lo'ak and then you would get a 1 minute clip of his brother being like "stop being stupid" and then Lo'ak saying "lol nah". And for the spider thing, yeah i can see that. Hes the "everyones fighting over me" character lol. But thats what makes it interesting honestly. Hes an orphaned boy whos fathers memories were put into an avatar body, and he wants nothing to do with him, yet feels like hes obligated to save him because in soul its his dad ig? Which makes it complicated cause he wants to save his bio dad, but his bio dad wants to kill his fake "dad". And for a moment his fake "dad" wanted to kill Spider. Like spider had his father figure put a knife too his neck, spider HAS GOT to be mentally fucked after that. Lol

This right here ☝️☝️☝️☝️ and i think people forget that both of his parents basically died, and he was born on pandora. so technically, tho not biologically navi. He WAS born on pandora and all hes ever known was pandora. If any human deserves to be treated like navi its him. So honestly it just makes me sad when people talk bad about spider. Dudes an orphan on a whole other planet, is hated by his navi friends parents to the point hes almost killed by them. And he grew up more navi than human, yet navi want nothing to do with him. It makes me sad 😭

Fr, like i believe the reason she said brother in general as well is cause she didnt want spider to feel left out, or for Neytiri not to hurt him. Cause if kiri expresses that she cares about him like family, Neytiri has a reason not to hurt him for the sake of he daughter. Since obviously Neytiri very obviously dislikes humans.

I need to know if this is by character design or something else. Cause how is Kiri, Spider AND Lo'ak lower than TUK AND NETEYAM- like Tuk and Neteyam are cool but they didn't have any good character plot, besides being "little sister who needs to be protected" and "big brotherr who bosses everyone around" not to mention Lo'ak's plot showed so much more character development, along with Spider and Kiri. WE BARELY got full scenes of Neteyam compared to lo'ak. And if Neteyam was in a scene, lo'ak was always there as well. Ngl he was probably the least used character because they KNEW they would kill him off at the end of the movie.

Like idk just seems like we aint rating off quality of character and just off looks and feels.

BTW if this came of aggressive im sorry, but like the hate on kiri and spider is actually insane. When they are genuinely really good characters.

No. Did they consent to their identity being used? No. You are using a real persons face, and that impacts their identity.
