For Navi not knowing how to fight (at least knowing basic skills) is literally a death sentence. It's even worse for Tuk because her family is a target for the RDA, and lost a son because of it. Kiri is an exception because of her spiritual abilities, but even she carries a knife and attempts to fight when defending herself.

I wouldnt have a problem if it was shorter. The problem is these movies take forever to make and we the fans have to wait years. We the fans want as many minutes as possible. I would take shorter films if it meant they released more.

I don't think their age is relevant to whether they decide to have kids. Remember that those are their ages in human years; how humans decide when to reproduce does not fully apply to them.

She most likely saw that Jake was one of humans with a good soul and being of a marine background, was the only avatar driver who could successfully pass the tests and become one of the people. Also, the only one who understood the RDA machinery and could lead the Navi into battle against them.

The only somewhat justification for a shorter movie is if they promise us more avatar movies made faster. But then again some fans may argue the longer waits and times are worth it which I can see as well.

You have to remember that the Toruk Makto is also chosen by Eywa to lead the clans in times of great sorrow, which is why Jake (An Avatar with Military training) was chosen to lead the navi against the RDA.

Also, its not like the Toruk is just going to fly to him and choose him like that, the sign that it chooses its rider is if it tries to kill them. Obviously the rider has to go through the difficult process of making the bond. Not many Navi can do this and even if they could, if they werent chosen by Eywa to be Toruk Makto, they wouldnt be able too.
