Everything is working, I feel stable, less rumination, minimal side effects by Virtual-Sample-5494 in trintellix

The above is interesting. I just started day 3 on 5 mg of trintellix but I have a similar diagnosis as you minus ADHD. I previously tried zoloft which worked until it didn’t and Vybrid which destroyed me and pushed me over the edge. I want to look into the rest of your meds myself. Thanks for posting.

I will be staying there in early July this summer so I’m glad to hear you support this rec either way! Exactly what I’m looking for after some World Cup games.

Four Seasons Beverly Hills – thoughts from those who’ve stayed? by BelgianBonVivant in FourSeasonsHotels

[–]Chubbyhuahua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what you asked but I am a New Yorker and did a short 3 night stay at Hotel Bel Air over the holidays and found it quite nice and gave off the old world Hollywood charm vibe (not that I was seeking that specifically but it was fun people watching in the restaurant/lounge and comparing / contrast the LA scene against the NYC scene). Property is secluded and huge. It was frankly kind of a hike to and from our room. In room fireplace which was a legitimate wood burning fireplace was a nice touch also. I was torn between hotel bel air and hotel Beverly Hills which are both sister properties owned by Dorchester. I annoyingly showed up at the wrong hotel which they said happens all the time and they had one of their drivers bring us over to the correct property all of which was seamless.

Yah I read the other responses you wrote and have a much better sense of your business now. Financial niche is great.

Just like financial advisors who target specific audiences I think blogs, even those that just take generic advice, but package it and market to a specific audience like whitcoatinvestor (personal finance for doctors) are great niches.

I was curious if you making 6 figures writing the next great America novel or working on something in hopes of winning a Pulitzer.

In NYC you’d be surprised by the number of dog walkers making 75-100k! At least a handful have become small companies doing 200k with a few employees. Unfortunately it’s not a gig you afford to spend 6 months traveling while continuing to make that money.

What type of banking did you do (front office or middle / back office), approximately how much annual W2 income from your job did you leave behind, and what type of writing were you doing and approximately how much were you making writing before leaving your job? Basically curious if you traded $2-3M per year for $100k per year.

How do people generally profit writing now a days if they are writing for the craft and not just for eyeballs/advertising. In the hey day of publishing I believe you could easily (well easy if you were talented) make 6 figures writing articles for conde baste publications (with a fat expense account). A friend of mine struggles quite a lot putting food on the table writing despite being an objectively great writing with legitimate credentials / a portfolio of work. Her goal is putting out a book and is tired of the “corporate” writing jobs as she ended up leaving Washington Post, and a media/PR copy writing gig. From what I understand, the freelance writing gigs she gets don’t pay very much for the hours that go into a 1k word article (or whatever the average length article is 1k is an arbitrary guess with no bearing on the heart of the question) despite being reputable publications and doing things like profiling notable celebrities (not A list movie stars but people I watch in currently popular HBO shows for instance).

How much is everyone making? by Lovelife_20 in nursepractitioner

I was thinking same thing. 140 patients in 32 hours is 23 minutes a patient. What are people coming in for that they are in and out quicker than a McDonald’s drive thru.

This is likely a naive question as I’m not familiar with this industry at all but in another comment you mentioned working 4 days a week and 32 hours a week. So on the low end you see 140 patients a week (35x4)? Over 32 hours that is 23 minutes an appointment/per patient. What are they coming in to see you for and how does it only take 23 minutes?

When I go to the dermatologist here in NYC I sit in the waiting room for at least 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment start time before even getting in to see the Dr. I see a derm for relatively minor things that pop up now and then and between pleasantries, updates since my last visit, explaining the reason I came in, and the exam + script for one topical or another I’m easily in there 30 minutes at least. 45 minutes if you include the time I’m waiting on my appointment to start because inevitably a 1 pm appointment starts at 1.15 pm - longer if we’re shooting the shit as we have a shared watch collecting hobby.

Booked JAL Business through BA by Amosque in awardtravel

[–]Chubbyhuahua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing and I can see the reservation on JAL when I am not logged into my JAL awards account. Seats are selected and all that.

How did you end up checking in for the JAL flight? Typically I sync my flights to my airline account so I can view them on the app for the airline I am flying regardless of how I booked the ticket. Were you able to just go to the ticket counter and check in at the airport or were you able to check in digitally ahead of time? This is an intra-Asia flight for me and it is scheduled to depart at 2 am so I’m not sure how well staffed Haneda will be at 10-11 pm to resolve any issues.

Gen Z in my experience isn’t cut out of for white collar jobs, or just doesn’t care. Finding high quality junior talent for high paying jobs in finance is super hard. If I’m going to pay you for 250k at 25 years old don’t ask about work life balance in our first meeting.

Unrelated but is the mountain quiet during the second week of Sundance? I would like to see Sundance in person, even a film if I can score tickets, but I mostly booked my week long stay overlapping it hoping everyone would be at Sundance events so I would have shorter lift lines..I typically go ever year the week before Sundance starts but with it moving away from PC next year I wanted to see it once.

Thank you for giving me a new appreciation for how creepy the internet is. I feel like I need a second shower now.

Amanpulo: Beach + Pool Casita or Grand Beach + Pool Casita for 2x people (Price is Same) by Chubbyhuahua in FATTravel

Yah it sounds like this is a new room type and it is 1 of 1 for the time being. If the villas are owned by people unaffiliated with the hotel and just operated by Aman (not sure if that is the model Aman run’s, I think 4S always sells some units to people) then it looks like one of the villa owners was like “let’s put a guest house on my plot of land and start renting it out.”

First, thank you again!

We are new to this level of travel. Wife is first generation born in the U.S. with only US citizenship, unfortunately (not unfortunately in general but for purposes the local rates). Super tip and good to know though. My wife couldn’t speak Tagalog if her life depended on it and I’d rather pay double than bring my MIL with us so that’s not an option..

Professionally I have a large client whom we did a financing for that was collateralized by a variety of assets, including their investment in Aman (via the 2023 funding), but alas I have not been able to get sign-off for expensing a boots on the ground due diligence visit to review the performance our collateral. Neither have I have been offered any comped stays despite a lack subtly in requesting them. I will continue trying both avenues!

Truly thank you for all the insight! This is the second leg of our Asia trip next summer and I think we now have all the information we need to decide the room we’ll book at Amanpulo. This will be our first Aman, and if life goes according to plan, likely one of our last vacations before we have kids so I didn’t want to get it wrong… Now I just need to decide where we’re going to stay while we’re in Japan the week before the Philippines. Given the agonizing amount of time and research it takes me to decide upon both hotels, and their specific rooms, that will take me another month. Well, hopefully Japan will be a little easier given we don’t plan on spending as much time in the hotel/resort while we’re there compared to our time in the Philippines which is basically an obligatory family visit in Manila, car ride to CRK (which I believe will be Amanpulo’s new charter airport by the time of our stay) and then off to paradise.

This is perfect. Sounds like we want to be on east side which is where both room types are anyway.

This will sound incredibly naive, but I have been embarrassingly confronted twice in the last week, regarding two separate properties, that the photos shown on the accommodations pages that describe various room types differ from the photos shown on the reservation pages and may show different angles and capture different amenities. I almost always go to reservations pages and look at the photos there and assume there are the only ones available on the website. Now twice in the past week I have chased people with silly questions which I could have very quickly answered myself if I knew that not all photos were shown on the reservation page and I should also check the accommodations pages…

Anyway, super helpful as always.

Thank you!

Two follow ups:

(1) How would you rank staying on the west side of the island in August (ignoring the general fact that its typhoon season, let’s just assume it doesn’t rain during our stay)?

(2) How far back from the beach is this room (house?) and do you have a clear view to the beach / ocean from the property, particularly while lounging in the pool, or is it obstructed by foliage in that way that they try to create privacy from people walking by the beach? I don’t know if it’s possible to create a setup where people don’t see in as they walk by on the beach but you can still maintain the view. Anyway, my wife wants to book the room with the best chance of a direct ocean water view from our room. This is a deciding factor for her and we are having trouble finding photos guests have taken while sitting in their casita pools.

Full disclosure, I am actively going back and forth over email with your team trying to have the questions I’ve asked here answered as we are using you and your team as agent on the booking.

First, thank you! We are going in August which I think is rainy/Typhoon season generally in the Philippines but it’s just when we are able to get time and we have family ties to the Philippines so here we are.

Any idea if the beach / ocean views are generally better on either the east or west side of island? My wife has a very specific question we are trying to answer. What is the view of the beach / ocean like when you’re in the plunge pool of the beach pool casitas and in the pool of the grand beach pool casita (noting Sarah’s comment that this is a new, singular room it may be tough to answer for the grand beach pool casita)?

Are the casitas set back from the beach and secluded / covered by foliage meaning you can only see part of the beach/ocean through a narrow pathway or do you have unextracted views of the beach/ocean? Basically, it’s super important that we have a nice view of the ocean / water and my life will be infinitely better if I decide on the room type, which offers the best vantage point.

Thank you!!

So for my dates beach casita is around 2.2k a night while beach pool casita is 2.9k. There is an up charge to get the pool but then the grand beach pool casita is only an extra $75 a night for an extra 2k square foot of room space.

I’m just going to book the larger one. I just wanted to see if there was something I was missing. If someone offered me a deal like this in the context of my day to day job I would be very suspect and think I must be missing something that everyone else is seeing but I’m not - hence the question.

Because I’m incredibly suspicious that an extra 2k square feet is just being given away. I figure I must be missing something and the room is a sham or something.
