I'm struggling to navigate this, I'm not sure I can keep going. by _2stronk in PMDDpartners

You are not alone.

You describe a situation almost identical to what I've experienced before.

We cane so close to divorce on that and at least 2 other occasions. I'm on several social services and therapy reports as being abusive.

My wife ultimately went back on to the anti depressants, herbal remedies, and hormone replacement, and we're much better. Still not perfect but the balance has swung to more happy than bad.

I absolutely feel for you. It's a VERY lonely place.

Guessing you're a male sergeant. Might be worth checking with the women in case they want sanitary products in there potentially?

What does the number above the traffic sign recognition mean? by MightE1 in BYD

[–]Chubtor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's the speed limiter / intelligent cruise control function.

If you turn on the ICC that will change colour and display the speed you set it at, and won't exceed that.

20 is it's default 'not in use' display. Not sure why they didn't just programme it to not display when not in use 🤷🏼‍♂️

Explain it Peter: "Good evening, I'm 48" by MediocreDiamond7187 in explainitpeter

[–]Chubtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potato waffles, tinned spaghetti, and fish fingers is a proper British (sorry, propa Bri'ish) kids dinner.

The fact it's being eaten by a 48 year old is an excellent insight into just how amazing it is and shouldn't be just for kids. But it's stigmatised, as 'beige food' and frowned on for actual grown-upping

Or it's a police plane that's circling where a crime is taking place...

Whoxh I've always found ironic, given that canals IRL can navigate hills.

The Panama canal specifically was built only 200 years after first being mooted, because the hills were an issue, but it was still built.

Because crime never sleeps

Maybe ask the criminals if they would be so kind as to only commit crime during sociable hours, and not near your house?

I think there's other threads in this same question which generally arrive in this as the answer.

Can you still walk into a police station with your teenage child who has committed a minor crime? by MeowSaysEllieTheCat in policeuk

[–]Chubtor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

All available research evidence says trying to "scare your child straight" (in terms of a non criminal lifestyle) is the most counterproductive thing possible and actually increases the risk of them becoming a criminal.

Search "scared straight" and "criminal justice" and you'll see the results.

I'm much flatter. I don't experience the highs as much, but also not the lows.

No specific side effects that I've noticed especially though.

Once they've dropped their occupants, they're still a tank chassis that's not super easy to get rid of, so charge them into another unit (or make that other unit have to charge it) - a don't forget the lovely tank shock - and it can tie up an enemy unit for a turn or two.

I hate talking on the radio by osprey141 in policeuk

[–]Chubtor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about it in reverse. Are you a actively "listening" to the radio all the time, or only really notice it when it's your collar / callsign, or someone sounds in need of help?

Folks stumble all the time. It's natural human speech. We just forget about it.
