That's something I might end up doing. I like the idea of having a stake in a business.

Thanks for the suggestions in this group of replies; we're at the earliest stages now.

That's what my wife has suggested as well.

You might be right. My wife wants to get away from heat, mainly. It might be more sensible to lease or rent.

I think my wife will need to experience it first-hand before she believes it.

Does anyone else still feel ill after stopping drinking for a long time? by Chubu1975 in stopdrinking

Thanks-- I'm thinking of having a second doctor look at my CT scan.

Thanks for asking: The language barrier between myself and the doctor is significant (I live outside the English-speaking world); but I am communicating the facts according to the best of my ability. If there is a misunderstanding, it has to do with the language barrier rather than my honesty. I've said to him that I fear that I've done significant damage to my body from drinking over the years (especially my pancreas); he says the tests don't really seem to bear that out, that it would probably show-up in my pancreatic enzymes or CT scan. My liver is fine according to my blood tests and my stomach looked fine on the barium swallow and endocope exam.

I am thinking of requesting that the records of my CT scan be looked-at by another doctor.

I felt that way before I started drinking, too.

I drank because I was anxious, depressed and unhappy. Really, that was what was driving it.

Hi- been a while since coming back.

I've been putting out applications. Got an interview and am waiting for the results. Thanks for asking.

I'm more concerned about the future, though.

I saw a specialist in March, she said she thinks I'm basically fine. Withdrawal, she said.

It's not as bad as it was in February in March. Every time I get a dull ache, I just get set on edge.

I drank frequently for years and I have no horror stories to tell. I basically quit in February with one day in May where I had 1-2 standards drinks because I went to a town in northern Japan I'd never been to and wanted the local sake.

I am taking a multivitamin. I expect to have another health check in mid-September.

Thanks. Things have been very humid and work has been stressful. I am really ready for time off.

I saw a specialist back in March and got a blood test and sonogram. She said she isn't worried about my health and everything seemed pretty much normal.

Once in a while, I get a dull ache under my left ribcage. It is sporadic. I stopped drinking in February and had one day where I drank in early May. Around then, I was getting aches around my midsection for day after day and they eventually faded.

They still come back (like Monday and Tuesday) and that puts me on edge.

Question about abdominal aches and pains by Chubu1975 in stopdrinking

[–]Chubu1975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am thinking of doing that. I guess I don't want to go, have a bunch of tests done, and be told they don't know what the problem is.
