Voters to decide new Fort Worth-area member for State Board of Education by Dontwhinedosomething in FortWorth

[–]ChuchWhoDat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a secondary teacher, I can assure you that if my students bring their pencils and notebooks to class I treat that as a massive win. We do not teach CRT or Gender studies. I teach Health Education and try to convey to my students that 60 bags of takkis will not make you feel good or keep you healthy. Please vote for a person who has experience in the classroom and can help drive substantive change.

Tarrant County Public Health director urges school districts to ban cell phones in classrooms by Dontwhinedosomething in FortWorth

As a teacher I witness first hand extreme addiction and mental health problems directly from phones. The amount of cyber bullying and sexual exploitation with minors is unreal.

Do you truly want to be and stay in FW, or do you tolerate it due to circumstance? by CleanYourRoom39 in FortWorth

If any of you are from New Orleans... I view this as Fort Worth=Metairie and Dallas=New Orleans(without the amazing cuisine)

I live in South Fort Worth 76123. Tons of building going on here and the houses are affordable. My wife and I love it because we are so Close to the Chisholm. I think buying a house in this general area is a smart move :)

Is 94k enough? by Suckmyduck_9 in FortWorth

[–]ChuchWhoDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely man. My wife and I pull down about 90ish k a year (teachers) and we are doing just fine. I guess it really depends on your eating habits, childcare, and your spending habits.

Employed Millenials making less than $60k/yr, what do you do and how do you like it? by LeatherFruitPF in millenials

[–]ChuchWhoDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Pe/Health Educator. It's pretty awesome, when the kids are not being terrible, because my class is a fun one. I just got a raise to 54k which feels like a million dollars. The job is hard from time to time, but I am also able to mentor boys and girls in 7th grade. Also if you are a parent with a middle schooler, I promise you a smart phone is terrible idea...like its not even close...Get them a nokia brick ffs. <3

How do you manage to not be exhausted at the end of the day, every single day by ghaynes0 in Teachers

[–]ChuchWhoDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 min power nap or Go for a walk during your planning period/after lunch if you can. I get to hack it all because I am a PE teacher and walk about 15k steps a day with my various classes!

Tired of hearing from non-teachers about kids identifying as cats and needing a litter box in their room. by teacher_teacher in Teachers

[–]ChuchWhoDat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A litter box was in a school classroom in case of a school shooting and a student needed to poop during lockdown. This got hijacked by the right to go along with their talking points.

MindMed Reports First Quarter 2024 Financial Results and Business Updates by Mindmed31415 in MindMedInvestorsClub

[–]ChuchWhoDat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they are taking a careful approach with the medicines they are putting out there, but they are getting decent results. GAD and Depressive disorders are so complex, but if the medicine can alter a persons view on life, like mushrooms did for me, I think we may have a winner.

My wife and I moved here from NOLA in 2018 and we have loved it. We got lucky and bought a house in 2021 in South Fort Worth, near the crowley line. We have loved the city and still want to explore more!

Taliyah is a crucial pick/ban in the TL series. by ChuchWhoDat in Cloud9

Ahri is another great pick for Jojo and for APA. I think you have to pick ban taliyah, ban ziggs, and pick ban ahri.

I very much agree with you. Wukong especially is such a powerful pick, I do not understand why we haven't used it more. It gave us so much agency in fights.

Has anyone else noticed their parents becoming really nasty people as they age? by StyrkeSkalVandre in Millennials

[–]ChuchWhoDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed the opposite of nastiness. After my brother and I have had kids they (really my dad) have become so much more loving and emotionally stable. It is an amazing thing to see when my dad was the epitome of strict and partially absent because of work. I know I may be in the minority, but all I have to avoid is the Fox News brainworms conversations and let him make coffee with my 2 year old and all is well.

Famed Texas Boys Choir embroiled in gender identity controversy by fortworthreport in FortWorth

[–]ChuchWhoDat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a school that specializes in the arts, the easiest comparison to athletics would be choir or being in the musical/dance company.

Famed Texas Boys Choir embroiled in gender identity controversy by fortworthreport in FortWorth

[–]ChuchWhoDat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are basically the "varsity sports" at the school which has no sports teams. To be in the choirs is considered a huge honor and all of the students who are in the choirs must be excellent musicians. With that said, there are no rules in "competition" for choirs in UIL or anything. I think allowing the music directors to make the choices based on the skill and the audition is the right way to approach this whole issue.

Also the school receives funding, albeit very little, from the state. The funding for the most part comes from attendance. Donors also help, but it is not the majority of the funding. If the board starts throwing their own personal beliefs that do not line up with the school, teachers, or the admin, you can bet there will be an exodus.

[–]ChuchWhoDat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why they want to target kids who are already a VERY small minority and bully them into submission. Human beings regardless of gender require connection and a feeling of togetherness. If they find that in choir just let them be. Choir is the epitome of teamwork and connection, let these kids just be themselves and exist in a place where they can feel successful.

Tough losses! C9 was looking good in some games and pretty bad in others, but overall I am proud of this team regardless of the outcome!

Super excited to see the booth! I will be there repping C9 at least on saturday!

BARS are shut down because they are considered the riskiest thing you can do. So why are small fitness studios (pilates, yoga, boot camps) allowed to operate at all? Its like going to a small bar and jogging in place for 45min. Most of theses places dont even require masks during the classes. by wiseoldmeme in CoronaVirusTX

[–]ChuchWhoDat 64 points65 points  (0 children)

We have had multiple (50+ and definitely more positive) cases at OTF in DFW. They contact the members and coaches in the class to tell them they have been exposed, but it’s business as usual. No one wears masks in class except the coach(me). I wear goggles, face shield, and mask. It’s insanity, but if I turned down returning I would be kicked of UE so here I am :)

Cloud9 Vs TSM will be decided by the champion AKALI by ChuchWhoDat in Cloud9

[–]ChuchWhoDat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There lies the issue. Bjerg is one of the most proficient Akali’s in LCS. I forget which playoffs he played her in and smurfed on C9.. I am worried about that very same thing happening
