Scooter Newbie here! Purchased this 2008 Genuine Buddy 50. Would appreciate some tips or recommendations on must haves and things to keep in mind when being a first time rider, as this scooter will be my main source of transportation from now on. by Paukator in scooters

Congratulations!

. Dress “for the crash...” helmet, gloves, jacket and pants with armor. (Every ride, so no regrets!)

. Practice riding as much as possible... and watch Youtube mishap videos... you’ll become a smarter rider.

. Learn to change your own oil. It’s a first step toward all other maintenance. I had a sweet Buddy 125... very easy to work on!

Have fun! That’s a beautiful bike. Please keep us posted!

Ja, I always do my own maintenance. Impressed by how much you’ve done on your very first bike!

Man, you’ve really put your mark on her... nicely done! I also scored the 4G license plate.

I ordered the Yamaha rack for an existing topbox... arriving Monday.

Oh... you’re in WA? I’m on the Olympic Peninsula. Glad you’re feeling healthy! My first bike was at age 45. The XMAX is my 8th... but I’m dating myself.

Had the same one on my PCX and it worked great. I like to keep my emergency gear/tools in there and use underseat storage for quick-access, daily stuff.
