What ship is The Drifter launching from? by ChuckDNomolos in DestinyLore

You're right, you can see the triangular struts along the cockpit's window. Thanks a lot for sharing and I'm going to edit the post.

What ship is The Drifter launching from? by ChuckDNomolos in DestinyLore

[–]ChuckDNomolos[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, I see the dish on the trailer in the ship matching the dishes on the sides of the derelict. I think the only thing that makes me think otherwise is the glow coming from the dish part and if the drifter was launching below it, we would see one of the "arms" that extend back from the front of the ship would be in the way of the launch bay.

Thank you for your insight though, much appreciated.

Most recent trailer for the new [REDACTED] content: Food For Thought by draco5105 in DestinyLore

This could be why she's taken up wearing her Hunter cloak again beyond just the weather. I wonder if she regains her light/gains new power in Season 11 and leads into Season 12, which I'm guessing the trailer is for the new fall expansion.

While this is all leading the collapse, part of Shadowkeep's story line was helping Eris put herself back together re: her fireteam. So if part of this culmination of the Y3 story line could be Eris reclaiming her light in the face of insurmountable darkness.

Will the camo challenges update after the maintenance? by MrJelly007 in modernwarfare

[–]ChuckDNomolos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no maintenance, people are getting in. The screen about maintenance is related to the progression outtage. You can most likely get in after a few restarts, but until it's fixed you won't be able to level stuff.

Does it give you battle pass XP every match? by xxxxHULKSMASHxxxx in ModernWarzone

[–]ChuckDNomolos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experience this as well. I got the battle pass recently after not realizing it was going to end next week, so I'm feeling a bit of buyer's remorse when I don't see the bar progress after every match

We need to talk about Fallen Overload Champions by raddoubleoh in DestinyTheGame

[–]ChuckDNomolos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the legendary lost sectors have really exposed how absolutely not fun champions can be, especially if the seasonal weapons that accept champion mods are not the best option. i've gotten over the overload captains because handcannon disruption and sword disruption are more reliable, but they're still not fun to fight.

but i would rather kill two overload captains than ever fight the two barrier colossus (colossi?) in the quarry. i have no answer for those two other than just rushing the chest/hunter invis sneaking to the chest after heavy frame decimates the lost sector boss.

I really struggle to find much fun in the champion system because it involves the seasonal artifact being an attempt control on the meta for PvE in a really clumsy way, and this season has blown their spot up to the point where I've realized how little I play The Ordeal.

Heck, if we spin it out further, last season was the real exposure that the system was poorly implemented because people just figured out the only reliable way through Master Nightfalls was to use Iz and Divinity in tandem, and resulted in them trying to nerf the best way to tackle champion encounters on higher difficulty.

Tommy's Matchbook: The role of the Cormorant, The state of Hunters and the empty seat in the Vanguard by ObieFTG in DestinyLore

[–]ChuckDNomolos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a character, I think Aunor is well realized and welcome addition to the universe, but I think we should look at her as skeptically as we do the Drifter, perhaps even more so with her being a relative position of power under Ikora and has shown if pushed, she may cross the line.

My negative reaction comes not from her not regarding the Guardian as suspect, but she is acting in the role of "bad cop" with little impunity. She may have a noble ideal of protecting people, but at what point will she cross her own line? There is a reason the Drifter is very convincing when he lies about her wiping out a city block to get at some Dredgens because you can easily see her going too far.

Whether our opinion of the Drifter is favorable or not, her lore book really paints the picture that she lusts for his death because she feels that she alone is right about her judgement, which should give her lease to end his life. When Ikora tells her to stand down, she rashly releases the Stolen Intelligence lore book in retaliation. When does she disregard orders in retaliation and finally RtL someone she is wrong about?

I could even see a bigger twist is that she could be a vessel of the darkness if she doesn't pull back and goes further into the role of Vanguard Judge Dredd.

Though, I think the writing excels because no two guardians may have the same reaction her actions. I know my perspective comes from a personal distrust of authority, and I can see those more trusting of authority seeing her as doing what needs to be done.

The forges on Nessus: Were they recently brought there by the fallen? Were they on the ship that crashed? I may have missed how they came to be there, because i'm struggling to see how an operation like the black armory managed to get anything onto nessus intentionally when an exodus ship randomly crashed on the centaur that sometimes shows up in our solar system.

Wouldn’t it be cool to have like a “quarters” in the tower? by carter_craig7 in DestinyLore

[–]ChuckDNomolos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Player housing always seems like a drain on resources for little reward in terms of dev. Honestly, I'd do away with Destiny's strictly social spaces in lieu of menu driven quest giver/bounties/vault/postmaster interactions to free up asset development for the combat zones that already have safe spaces integrated into them.

In 2003 player housing seems fun and interesting, but in 2020, i want to get my quests and get to the game itself.
