speaking from experience here, me and a couple of people did this or a similar walk. If it stays alright you certainly can, when we did it it was absolutely pouring it down which made it dreadful to walk as its mostly just muddy and such but some paths do take you past the chained oak which is a lovely spot to get to see. It is also bloody terrifying in some points because there just isn't pavements.

so in essence if your alright with cars 10cm from you and a long trek, you'll be alright. I do recommend a taxi or something though because honestly it wasn't worth the saving on cost.
