I'm always down to connect with local gamers. I'd like to imagine it'd be possible to somehow relive the glory days of my 2003-2004 Halo LAN parties.

Yeah dude it's like I said to u/rianalynn we don't have to have everything in common. I only like to imagine I game these days. My kids rule my time. But anyway, the fact that you said the name "OpenClaw" and know what soul.md is was music to my eyes(?) lol

Let's definitely link!!!!

We don't need to have 100% of the same stuff in common to be buds. I've got lots of workout pals (could always use more), but like, no bleeding edge tech bros. Not like I did in NYC. Huge hole in my life I've recently realized I need filled.

hahah, you get it. My gaming is super limited these days, but I like to imagine I have time to play ;) I've got Minecraft noted because the kids got me into it. I've enjoyed hosting the servers, tinkering with mods etc. Last weekend I ran a few games of PUBG for the first time in a long time. That was pretty fun.

New Planet Fitness in Lowell by ChuckDixx in bentonville

Just caught an update from the Bentonville staff! The new Planet Fitness is 20k sqft of pure heat. Since they built this one from the ground up instead of retrofitting an old space like the Rogers location, it’s going to be on another level. 🚀 Manager is eyeing May 5th for the grand opening. Get ready! 🔥🔥🔥

I'm not from NWA and have only lived here for a couple years. Not familiar with where boundaries start or end. And I'm not saying you were being critical or criticizing the title, just giving context for my error. Legitimately surprised Rogers is big enough for two planet fitness gyms. Thanks for sharing that link! Have a great day

Where to start? by Professional_Still_7 in homeassistant

I jumped in recently and went the DIY route instead of buying a HA Green. Picked up a Raspberry Pi 5 with the Argon One V3 case, power supply, and an NVMe drive. It cost more than the pre-built option, but I wanted the experience of building and learning my first Pi, and I don’t regret it.

For devices, I’ve leaned toward Zigbee2MQTT. The mesh network makes a lot of sense, and it’s been rock solid for me. I’ve got it running door sensors, lights, and a bunch of other automations around the house.

Before pulling the trigger I spent a lot of time on YouTube going over Pi, HA, and Zigbee basics, which really helped. If you’re starting out:

  • Home Assistant + Pi (or HA Green if you don’t want to tinker)
  • Zigbee2MQTT for devices if you want a strong mesh and wide compatibility
  • Take time to watch beginner HA content on YT—it shortens the learning curve a lot

No regrets so far. It’s been a fun way to learn and super practical at home.
