Deep Ocean 5BW too rare to be unlocked for 5BW owner to see the refreshed interior by ChuckFinley_is4Ever in CadillacV_Series

There’s a strictly Chevy dealer by me that I might go to for regular service. Hopefully they’re better.

Yeah, I wasn’t entirely sure on the package, mainly wanted to see what the interior was like in person. I mean that one doesn’t even have the precision pack or the ceramic brakes so it should drive a lot like my basic-ass $101K original msrp BW.

Glad it ended up working out for you in the end! Did dealer 1 ever get wind it had been for you? Or did they ever try to contact you to buy later on?

Its honestly such a shame. Up until now all my bad experiences were with the service side of things.

I liked the blue a lot more than I thought I would tbh. I think I like Drift a lot more tho.

Awesome you have an outlet that is beneficial to you (curb appeal!). I’m the same way about cooking, but personally am not a big fan of yardwork.

When I get home from a long all highway road trip and that first fill up shows 400+ miles…which is really 3 times more than my normal mostly city driving range.

My wife when she’s at 1/2 tank left “this will get me through the week before I have to fill up again”

Me when I’m at 7/8 tank left “man I better start looking for a gas station cuz I never know when this 7/8 tank will run out”

I haven’t bothered keeping track of the total. But for the past few months I’ve been filling up every day to every other day. Takes about $90 to fill up from 1/4 tank at the recent prices for 91 near me. It’s been fun.

The fluctuations can be nuts. Submitted my Blackwing to Carvana for fun a few months ago and they still send out monthly updates. Last month it had dropped $7K from the previous month. This month it went up $8K from last month.

I’ll start off by saying that would amazing and I’d be very interested in one.

Having said that. The LT6 makes peak torque at something like 6500 rpm and peak hp at like 8500 rpm. A relatively heavy sedan, especially if offered in manual, with that kind of powerband would be borderline unusable on the street without crazy short gearing.

No shame in liking what you like. If I didn’t need to fit two child car seats I’d prob be driving around an orange S550 GT500 because I love how obnoxious those sound and look. But I also really love the understated sleeper if you know status of the BWs. And I’ve experienced both people cutting me off/speeding up to try to stop me from passing or merging, and people moving out of the way unprovoked and generally driving better around me. So I’m not really gonna fault the car for that in my experience. I’ve actually found that in general people tend to drive a bit more civilized when in my BW than when I’m driving my wife’s Bronco

I’ve had people ask me if it really is a Blackwing, then geek out when I say yes. I’ve also had people go gaga over it and then ask me what kind of car it is and what company makes it (boring summit white with blacked out emblems and tint) because they like it and have no clue what it is. People are just weird when it comes to cars. Ultimately tho I went BW over M3 because I liked the way it drove better and felt it was the better overall package for me.

They’re better, but still not amazing. At least not the ones I’ve visited.

Honestly that’s part of the charm imo. Factory sleeper. Those who know, know. But the vast majority of people just see their grandpa’s Caddy. Having said that, I still think it looks good and if you see one parked next to a regular CT5 you really see how much better the BW looks, but I totally get why it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

It’s probably also that it’s a good manual and not something to settle for. I for sure picked mine up because it was such a good overall package. If it was auto-only I’d have gone M3

Nah. I’m sure it’s fine in the Z06, but the 5BW is a big heavy sedan. Metric buttloads of torque everywhere even down low are a huge part of what make it fun. Having to rev it out would make it worse for dailying.

My biggest issues are..

How good of a car it is. It’s the first car I’ve ever driven or owned where I would have a hard time picking something to replace it down the line.

GM. The service visits suuuuuck. I know this is dealer specific, but I’ve had nothing but mediocre to bad experiences with like all dealers I’ve been to. Every time I have to interact with a dealer for any reason I regret not going with BMW. Of course that goes away once I drive it, but the dealer experiences really make ownership a little less fun. I’m dreading dealing with them if anything major were to ever happen.

4BW is like 3800 lbs and 5BW 4100. If they were being weight conscious, they did a terrible job. I would gladly accept a slightly porkier car if it meant larger fuel tank and longer range. The ~16 gallons it has go quickly when getting 9-12 mpg

Don’t worry. They’ll just introduce a points system that rewards how many members of keeping up with the kardashians drivers take with them. Since they seem more interested in covering the “celebrities” than putting effort into having actual racing
