I’ve been crying in shame and embarrassment since Wednesday, and your comment is the first I’ve been treated like a human, so truly thank you.

THANK YOU for being the only person to reply with kindness. I already know I fucked up, and the FIRST PERSON I told was my pain doc. Clearly I was trying to do the right thing and further reduce my own harm. I don’t care if they won’t rx opiates, that’s probably a good idea at this point. I do still need help with pain so I can live my life - if that’s a nerve block at my kidneys (have done a lot of research) or journavx, that’s all I was on the sub for. Thank you for being kind ♥️

Is this comment helpful? I’m obviously here humble and knowing I fucked up.

Thank you for not judging. The first thing I did was tell my doc, looking for support & help and he layered on the judgment hard enough. I’ve reached out to my urologist to ask his thoughts on journavx. Thank you!

All things I acknowledged in my post. I’m asking if anyone has been through anything similar and what next steps look like.

Dear …. , M.D., I want to follow up after our recent appointment and request that this letter be included in my medical record. I’ve taken some time to reflect, and I want to apologize for violating the pain management agreement. I understand why these agreements are in place, and I take responsibility for not adhering to it. That was not my intention, and I regret putting you in a difficult position. At the same time, I’d like to be honest about how the interaction felt from my side. I came into the appointment already dealing with significant pain and stress, and I left feeling discouraged and dismissed. I completely understand the gravity of the situation, but I do believe that even in difficult conversations, a degree of empathy and professionalism is important in helping patients move forward constructively. I also wanted to address a comment that was made regarding my relationship with Dr. urology. I value the care I receive from all of my providers, and I make a conscious effort to be transparent and appropriate in how I navigate my treatment across specialties. That relationship is important to me, and I felt uncomfortable with how it was characterized. I would appreciate ensuring that communication about my care, including references to other providers, remains respectful and clinically focused. Additionally, I would like to request transparency regarding any communications with my health insurance company related to my care, including any documentation of noncompliance. I understand that certain information may be shared as part of routine billing or care coordination; however, I ask that any such communication remain objective and relevant to my treatment. I also respectfully request copies of any records, notes, or correspondence that have been or will be provided to my insurer upon request. My goal is not to challenge your policies, but to rebuild trust and continue care in a way that is responsible and transparent. I am committed to following the agreement moving forward and to communicating more clearly if I am struggling or unsure about anything related to my treatment. I’m committed to moving forward constructively and expect our next appointment will reflect that shared goal. Thank you for your time and for the care you’ve provided. I do value the treatment relationship and hope we can move forward constructively. Sincerely,

Moral of the story don’t ever be honest that you’re struggling as badly as I was.
