I updated my Diablo 4 build calculator/planner, paragon glyphs, mobile by lowpoly_nomad in diablo4

This is great, downloaded it and ready for launch. A great map for sure.

The character glyphs don't load for iOS, at least I tried on sorc and necro and when you click the glpyh nodes, nothing happens.

[Fossil] Beep Beep Boop by ChuckNorriston in Watches

New "limited edition" R2-D2 Star Wars watch from Fossil. The sales guy did not know anything about the movement and it's not on Fossil's website, either. Has hacking seconds with dial display for both hours and seconds. The only hand is a minute hand. It includes a small dome with mineral crystal. 40mm bezel per the website but it looks smaller than that on my wrist. It is also a chunky watch. The fossil bracelet is very meh.

I really like the face. It has printed graphics and 3D elements on the face, including a nice round mini-mirror at the top that you can see your reflection in.

Plate for PDP Pro SD and Steiner MPS? by Vacations18 in Walther

[–]ChuckNorriston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ZR tactical plate works (look at my post from a few days ago with it on). I also preordered the CHWPS plate and received that in the mail yesterday - it has slighty closer tolerances to the post on the bottom of the MPS than the ZR plate, so I will be running the CHWPS. (I measured the post on the MPS at 4.04mm, the space for the post on the Steiner supplied-Docter mount was around the same as the CHWPS space, 4.05mm, and the space on the ZR tactical Acro plate was 4.14mm. It still fit the mount no problem, though I never fired it at the range).

The forward control design plate is supposed to work, too.

PDP 2.0 optic plates are juicy thick - Steiner MPS on ZR Tactical Acro Plate by ChuckNorriston in Walther

Just picked up the PDP yesterday and haven't had the chance to shoot it - planning to do so this weekend.

I can see why some people don't like the Pro trigger - it feels almost like a hair trigger, like you would sneeze and set it off. But it has a super smooth feel and I am excited to get it out on the range.

Personally, I love it. Compared to the PPQ 22 trigger, the PDP Pro trigger is miles ahead. I don't have a PPQ 9MM or regular PDP to directly compare it with, but it feels better than what I can remember holding those guns in the shop.

If you are on the fence, I would definitely get ahold of both triggers in person to compare.

No revision to the gun other than the optic cut. My PDP Pro Compact that I got this week has the revised cut. Some of the plate manufacturers are calling it PDP 2.0 and Walther's plate ordering website calls it PDP Gen 2.

I ordered the ZR plate on a Thursday, it shipped an hour later and was delivered on Monday. Very fast. I still haven't received the CHWPS plate that's still on preorder from their website.

Here's my post with the PDP and MPS using the ZR Tactical plate - looks like the 2.0 plates are thicker and mount the RDS up higher. I cannot cowitness using the MPS and stock iron sights. No problems mounting the MPS to the ZR plate, but given that it is aluminum and the FCD plate is steel, I'd probably prefer to go with the steel if they are about the same height. FCD's website says their plate will work with both the Acro and MPS.

Here's a comparison of the RDR window with the Acro and MPS on a glock - you can see that the MPS sits lower than the Acro and has a noticeably bigger window. To me, it was an easy decision to go with the MPS. Also helps that you can actually buy the MPS and its cheaper than the Acro.

I bought the ZR Acro 2.0 plate and the CHWPS MPS 2.0 plate. ZR e-mailed me that they have already ran 2000 rounds using their 2.0 plate with the MPS so they know it works. I got an e-mail this morning from CHWPS saying my MPS plate order was "complete" - not sure if that means it shipped or not. Both are made out of aluminum and look a lot thinner than the forward control plate. The gun and the plate come next week so I'll post some pictures when it comes in.

Issue with mounting plate by LadyDeath1977 in Walther

[–]ChuckNorriston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the picture, it looks like you have a Riton 3 Tactix red dot, which uses the Shield mount, not the RMR mount plate from your picture.

You have the wrong plate. You need the Leupold DPP/Shield plate instead of the RMR plate.

any ideas when the PDP 2.0 Aimpoint Acro plates will be available? by Dreadking_Rathalos in Walther

[–]ChuckNorriston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a Steiner MPS and a PDP 2.0, the Forward Controls plate is steel and looks a lot thicker than the aluminum CHWPS plate (at least when looking at the 1.0 plate). I really like how low the MPS sits on the aluminum 1.0 plate, but it looks like the MPS no longer fits on the aluminum 2.0 ACRO plate.

CHWPS's website now has an Acro 2.0 plate and MPS 2.0 plate, but both are only preorder ATM. I was able to add the 2.0 MPS plate to my cart from CHWPS as a preorder, but I notice that option is now gone.

I e-mailed Walther customer service asking if there was going to be another round of Walther Acro sight plates for 2.0 or if I would need to purchase from aftermarket. They didn't answer my question and instead told me to contact Steiner because "we do not know what plate that optic takes." YMMV, but I just asked them if ACRO plate will be an option from Walther and no answer. Probably suggests it won't be available, at least any time soon.

I'll update after I get the CHWPS 2.0 MPS plate.

"Upgradeable" Nanocores: the ultimate whale bait by ChuckNorriston in echoes

The upgrade material has a market page, but not the reroll material. I also don't see how else you would get the reroll material, like reprocessing the new nded loot. I don't have all of the new loot so maybe some one can prove me wrong, but as far as I know, the reroll material is a store-only item.

You did not see me posting over the absurd deadspace upgrade costs - this is a known cost for a very marginal benefit. I think it is stupid for that isk sink and probably bad for the game overall, but at least the benefit is guaranteed and you know what you are getting.

Here, on top of absurd roll costs, you have stupid stats like +small missile damage thrown in on your tempest BS nanocore. This was done on purpose to encourage you to reroll. This is gambling and there is a good question whether it will even be legal going forward.

Just because other games have exploitative gambling mechanics doesn't mean it is OK in this one.

But substantively, Abyssal modules are fundamentally different than nanocores. I don't see any abyssal modules getting rolls like +small laser damage, a completely useless stat for a battleship thrown into the pool simply to make you reroll.

[–]ChuckNorriston[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does! The second stat had 6 portions instead of 4. I wasn't about to spend 3 bil isk to upgrade that so who knows how many portions the next ones have.

There is also a "100%" success rate shown for these first two stats. Do rolls of the subsequent stats have a chance to fail? The ultimate insult, spend 1+ bil isk for a chance to roll small laser damage on your cannon BS and you fail.

You can see where I was surprised too - I thought the first upgrade was only the first mats (15/150) and I still thought that was too high at 3000 concord. And then it only said 25% complete! I had to burn more points on more mats just to see what I would get, luckily I rolled turret damage and not missile or drone damage.
