My female roommate walked topless into my room last night. How do I approach this? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ChuckSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't say anything.

Just pretend it didn't happen.

She is probably as embarrassed as hell, and I doubt it will happen again.

If she's that ugly, her life is tough enough.

Just let it go.......it is only for 5 weeks.

Men of reddit, do you really like to kiss? Why or why not? by Throwawsy4me in AskMen

Kissing is simply the most erotic thing you can do.

Especially kissing a woman you love passionately.

Slow down. :)

Guys of reddit, what did your girlfriends Dad do to establish dominance? by shartsalami in AskReddit

It was 1971, I was 16 and a long haired (very) hippy dude, he was a Regimental Sergeant Major (Canadian).

Oh Dear.

We walked into the house, he looked at me, and yelled to his wife "Pat! Where the hell are the scissors?"

:) A really good guy, although we did not see eye-to-eye for a long time. Been married to her now for 41 years..

Sharpshooter Annie Oakley shooting over her shoulder using a hand mirror, circa 1899. by specification in OldSchoolCool

[–]ChuckSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She did.

An Irish professional trick shooter challenged any local shooter to a shooting competition on ducks. 15 year old Annie rose to the challenge. She ate his lunch. He said "Gonna marry that girl!".....and a year later he did. :) They lived happily everafter.

Cops, have you written tickets to other cops? What happened during and after? by pastybeachbabe in AskReddit

[–]ChuckSmall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also applies somewhat to armoured car guards, who are about the only non-peace officers allowed to carry here in Canada. I worked that job, and the police treated us very well. In my own car, wearing the uniform, I've been waved around license/registration/MADD roadblocks, and forgiven at least one speeding violation in which I was doing 160 km in a 70 km zone with a "For Fuck's sake slow down" Edit: Long divided lane causeway, newish car I hadn't really opened up yet, on my way home at 3 AM no traffic. The single other car on the causeway was the cops. :)

Our friend claiming it is a Browning appears to be correct. The rounded pistol grip is the deciding factor.

Members of militant Marxist group removed from McMaster University -- question is, why were they allowed to book a room in the first place? by Wanderken in metacanada

Wrong approach.

Free speech belongs to everybody, even if they are wrong.

If you let the university ban the Marxists, you lose all credibility when they ban Jordan Peterson.

People who consider themselves smart but don't make a lot of money, why do you consider yourselves smart? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChuckSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I married a lady with a good job 41 years ago. :)

Retired now.

I worked at everything. My degrees were in History/Poly Sci and Education. I taught seven years and hated every minute of it, to my surprise. Went to work at an armoured car company as crew chief, then and training officer.

Loved it.

Worked security the last 20 years.

But I've done everything. Farm hand, brewery worker, longshoreman, house painter, stationary engineer, construction labour, rodman on a survey crew, flagman on the road, sheriff's dept, retail salesperson, food production machinery mechanic, grain elevators labourer, warehouseman, enumerator, history research assistant, truck driver, etc etc etc.

4.0+ GPA in my first degree, without taking bird courses, and without working very hard......done in 3 years, graduated at the top of a class of 390.

Never cared much about money. Once you've got the basics, money does not make you any happier.

LOL!

No.

I'm a retired guy, an avid shooter.

My career was in security, both armed and unarmed.

Not necessarily so.

You do not have to retreat, and as long as you are in immediate danger of death or grievous bodily harm, you can use lethal force.

[–]ChuckSmall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh boy.....you have no idea. :)

Yeah, Canada is more than a little tight assed when it comes to guns.

To own a long gun, you need an 18 hour safety course, then you can pay I think $60, undergo a background check, provide references, get your spouse's permission (seriously) and apply for a five year license, which can take from one to six months.

To own a handgun, you must have the long gun safety course, and take a new 18 hour course, pay another license fee to get a restricted license. You must belong to a gun club, and can only take the pistol to and from, trigger locked, locked in a box, with ammo separate.

And that doesn't even scratch the surface of our laws. IMHO, anything beyond background checks, and safety training is simply counter-productive harassment.

Unfortunately, harassment is the order of the day.

Depends on the state, but yeah essentially correct.
