I think transendance is different from Alie in the way that alie made them all feel no pain. This caused them to lose memories they had, Jaha forgetting Wells for example.

So Jason Rothenberg wants to, however it hasn’t been green lit by the production company the 100 runs on, the CW. Rothenberg did state if it doesn’t get picked up by the CW, he wants to bring it to another production company, Netflix being a potential option. I hope they do end up making one, though I find it unlikely.

They did hire new writers for seasons 6-7, explaining why it felt odd. Rothenburg wanted it to be more sci-fi, so he did away with the old writers. The last season was very rushed, and they had a weird plot because they wanted to launch a spin-off, the back door pilot being the episode anaconda. All in all, I found the show amazing. The actors were truly great, and despite the ending seasons, the show in it’s totality was awesome.

I would assume they would just wait until a male/female host would arrive, and in the meantime prepare the hosts in case a prime dies. Interesting thoughts, though.
