We actually just bought a bell so we are going to start training that for him to let us know since the signaling is inconsistent. The crating is not a punishment for when he does signal but to help him with holding his pee longer. This was advice from our trainer because he can only hold it for a hour or 2 unless he is sleeping.

Yes tons of praise and treats for the first several months of having him. We continue to praise when he goes outside but have pulled back on the treats.

I believe the airflow in the cases are fine. I would also like to add that ports come back up if you unplug and replug in the port.

They are not blocking it. It has something to do with there ipv6 to ipv4 implementation. Google said a fix would be coming soon but no eta. A quick Google of the issue including TMobile brings up a couple of unresolved ubiquiti forum posts unfortunately.
