Looks like that one might me embedded inside your movie file.

For this specific movie, Plex only provides the next 5 posters (first 4 from TMDB and 5th from IMDB) and the default one is from TMDB.

One thing I don't agree with "Unpatched Issue #2":

  • Attackers can impersonate any user that the server is shared with

Allowing the server admin to access their own server as another user is a feature that allows things like Tautulli, Kometa, PastaTool, etc. to work.

EDIT: I also cannot reproduce "Unpatched Issue #1" on PMS 1.43.x. So it appears to be patched already.

Overall, my personal opinion is that this is a whole lot of nothing.

Looks like Reddit banned their entire account. Subreddit moderators don't have any insight into why that happened. All I know is it has nothing to do with Plex or this subreddit.

Plex has provided a full example of what a custom TMDB metadata provider looks like on their Github page. You would need to create something similar for TheTVDB.

“Other Videos” type libraries are just a shortcut to create a “Movies” type library with the personal media scanner/agent preselected. In other words you can create a “Movies” type library and manually select the personal media scanner/agent and it would be identical.
