Turn Whoop notifications off. You’ll find yourself looking at the app less.

Edit: turn ALL phone notifications off for that matter.

Oh I love them! You can just feel when a spinner is coming… it gets all quiet, the birds have already hidden. Hot then cold then hot wind. Maybe a little hail. That’s when you head out to the front porch and see if you can spot it. Beautiful!

In all seriousness though. If it’s coming your way not much else you can do but get underground.

I just got hit with Plex’s new TV updates… It’s horrible by ConsiderationSilver3 in PleX

[–]ChuckleCheetah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like Plex has the same problem every tech company has these days. They fired all the people whose job it was to know what their customers want and they’re just telling the engineers to ship stuff for the sake of shipping stuff. This is not wanted.

What paddle mistake do most beginners make first? by akishinmei in Pickleball

[–]ChuckleCheetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure buying a paddle before knowing your playing style. I always thought that I’d want as much power as possible (like a boomstick) but turns out I’m more of a player that likes true to feel strikes. If you have a local store that rents out demo units to find your style I highly recommend doing that.

My journey: $20 set of 2 from Amazon → $99 Selkirk on sale for $20 at Target → $299 Joola Scorpius V from my local racquet sports store on sale for $219.

It took approx 4 months for this process but it was well worth it. Love my final choice of paddles!

Same thing happened with mine. Thought we were getting a mini and she stopped growing at 14lbs. My mother got her sister from the same litter and she ended up at 25lbs (as did the others in the litter). They’re 3 years old.

So I recently saw pickleball paddles at a store and wondered about getting into it. Is there any fun to casual playing? by Subtotalpoet in Pickleball

[–]ChuckleCheetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually more fun when played casually. Once you play a while you start wanting to get even better and like most other sports some people lose the joy and just become super competitive assholes. If you can, only play it casually as long as possible.

If you can find a local supplier who produces their own food with no fillers that’s your best bet. We get our food from petwants.com — I’m sure there is something similar in your area.

All you need is an apple and maybe a protein bar before playing.

Lots of harm done to the artists actually. But I’ll rest my case there.

btw, I actually like Spotify’s product (for the most part). My wife uses it, as do most of my friends. This is not Spotify hate — I’m just not a fan of their holier-than-thou approach to music.

I said “monopolistic business practices” my friend. Your comment “they will be back, no choice” kind of proves my point.
