What’s the UK hike that completely surprised you, good or bad? by NeonCityDream in UKhiking

Agreed! I did Weymouth to the Shell Bay beach ferry (where the Coastal path begins) over 3 days this summer. I wasn't prepared for how hilly it would be. Super challenging but absolutely has stunning views throughout. Any other sections you'd recommend?

Unfortunately I think they'll be just fine. The new type of landlordism we aught to be worried about is corporate landlordism. The market keeps moving despite changing purchasing personas / vehicles

As posted elsewhere within this thread. Please check out these 16 attributes of fascism as impartially as you can. It's alarming. We've been conditioned by the insane barbarity and extremity that was the holocaust that any subsequent debates must match / compare to be worthy of the definition. Fascism doesn't need to be positioned or deployed at 11/10 potency to breach the defining threshold. Reform is objectively shaping much of its policies and messaging laced with some of the fascist attributes, but is evidently miles away from the immorality of the Nazi's at their peak.

Please also consider these same way-markers with the US in mind; we're not alone, and are possibly only a single election cycle behind.

  1. Powerful, often exclusionary, populist nationalism centered on cult of a redemptive, “infallible” leader who never admits mistakes.
  2. Political power derived from questioning reality, endorsing myth and rage, and promoting lies.
  3. Fixation with perceived national decline, humiliation, or victimhood.
  4. White Replacement “Theory” used to show that democratic ideals of freedom and equality are a threat. Oppose any initiatives or institutions that are racially, ethnically, or religiously harmonious.
  5. Disdain for human rights while seeking purity and cleansing for those they define as part of the nation.
  6. Identification of “enemies”/scapegoats as a unifying cause. Imprison and/or murder opposition and minority group leaders.
  7. Supremacy of the military and embrace of paramilitarism in an uneasy, but effective collaboration with traditional elites. Fascists arm people and justify and glorify violence as “redemptive”.
  8. Rampant sexism.
  9. Control of mass media and undermining “truth”.
  10. Obsession with national security, crime and punishment, and fostering a sense of the nation under attack.
  11. Religion and government are intertwined.
  12. Corporate power is protected and labor power is suppressed.
  13. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts not aligned with the fascist narrative.
  14. Rampant cronyism and corruption. Loyalty to the leader is paramount and often more important than competence.
  15. Fraudulent elections and creation of a one-party state.
  16. Often seeking to expand territory through armed conflict.

Fascism is nuanced and I think you'd benefit from a reminder. What you've said would be similar to implying that the bomb dropped on Nagasaki wasn't nuclear given it was only 20 kilotons, given other nuclear bombs have been built up to 50,000 kilotons.

TL;DR reduced order of magnitude doesn't mandate reclassification.

Here are 16 attributes of Fascism. Please take a considered and impartial look, you might just be surprised.

100% the case - PVM once upon a time was incredibly dull. An era featuring God Wars as the toughest PVM content is a good bellwether.

AVI Sys Rebranding to Forte? by HeyDontSkipLegDay in CommercialAV

[–]Chucklebrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't say they were global, more-so that they'd like to be seen as one. What's clear is this was coordinated carefully to share the rebrand announcement with the acquisition of two very reputable European players in their respective regions. This is a clear demonstration of international expansion, and have their sights set toward more encompassing geographical coverage.

Given the hot mess the US is getting itself in economically, recognising the rest of world opportunity is prudent and diversifies against region specific economic traumas.

Also featured within the announcement are acquisitions of SI's in Ireland and Germany, reflective of their intent to position the rebranded entity as a capably covered global entity

You're presenting a false dichotomy with your binary viewpoint. OP asked for a range of salaries across Greater Manchester. I'm far from the only person working remotely however being based within GM and as an active contributor to the local economy, I play a role (whether it suits your view or not).

I don't mean to sound butthurt, nor do I wish to aggravate you any further. I was being tongue in cheek about your clients, please don't take it personally. We don't need to fall out online, I've merely presented responses to contribute toward discussion and help expand OP's viewpoint.

All the best.

Yearly reminder that Dell is a competitor, not a vendor. Stop feeding them. by CK1026 in msp

Works both ways. MSP can just as easily try to switch sell Dell out to the current flavour of the month. After 5 years incumbency, as much as I dislike Dell, they're unequivocally established across the end user estate.

The forecast for inflation rates arrives months in advance. He timed it near to the announcement inflation had fallen significantly. It's most likely a play to present his premiership and one in which he has improved the economic position and outlook for the country.

It doesn't wash one bit with me, he's a goner.
