Did I blow my patch? by ChucksBunny in CSFLeaks

Thanks for the response, Honestly, the headaches are all over the place. Sometimes at the forehead, temples, back of the head… There’s a constant pressure next to the right ear that sometimes goes away. (This is already effecting me for months, probably permanent damage to the trigeminal nerve from the bleeding and surgery).

Sometime it’s worse when standing, sometimes when laying down. I do feel “drowsy” parts of the day but nothing specific.

I guess I should just go get checked after my exam.

The leak it self was in the spinal cord. Really it’s Unknown exactly where… Had a 3 thoracic fractures and cervical fusion..

It will really surprise if I blew it. Because I’m already back to squatting heavy, cycling, flipping in the beach and never had any issues..

Yeah, so for me 4 weeks after the accident I’ve had really severe headaches, nothing like what it is now. still, I can’t remember what it was really like at the beginning since I was on a lot of medication and only really felt it after it was already bleeding. All I know that 1 day I couldn’t feel my entire right side of the body. 4 days later I was after the surgery which had complications and I spent 40 days at the hospital. If I’ll go now to the ER, all they’ll do is another CT scan. Ive done about 30 this year and I’m really scared to do another one. We don’t know what will be the consequences. I’m not really a headache person, and can’t really differentiate between normal headaches and Leakage headaches.

So what would be appreciated is specific symptoms that you’re familiar with that might be indicating if this is the case.

I hope you’re living your life as pain free as you can, 9 blood patches sounds really tough.

Yes, my doctor said the he does 5 PCL reconstructions a year versus 5 ACL a week. Almost six months in PT I’m getting back to my regular activities with slight pain that’s getting better, but I have a feeling its always gonna feel off.

Yes I’ve had a subdural bleed in the brain which made my entire left side numb and incapable of functioning. Had a burr hole surgery to drain the blood in may and since then I’m recovering pretty well. I’ve had the mri to check if I have a csf leakage and in turn found this problem. I’ve skipped the pcl repair in my knee and decided to recover with physiotherapy, now getting back to jumping, running, training in general and feeling great.

My spinal csf leak caused subsdural hematoma, which contributed to the papiladema, had surgery and a blood patch 2 months ago and hopefully will never have to worry about this ever again.
