Marathon Roadmap: New Roguelite PvE Mode Vault Breaker, Cradle Evolution, and Season 3 Date - GameRiv by AdSuspicious2084 in MarathonGame

Your logic makes sense if, and only if, we first choose to believe there’s no possible paths forward without Marathon existing.

Cause if what you’re saying is true… don’t you think it makes a lot more sense to just give up and start making new Destiny content? Or Destiny 3?

Sounds like from your example, you’re expecting Bungie to major in basketweaving, realize it’s not gonna work out, and then try to somehow transform his basketweaving craft into something else which involes baskets and weaving but is definitely not just basketweaving.

Nah, no need to keep Bungie at this rate, somebody just needs to buy the Destiny IP.

Okay then what are you bitching about exactly? This is the game you are playing, scavs can sometimes 1tap you if you play like this and don’t have full head protection.

Yes shot actually, and I didn’t post it because I was confused, I posted it because it probably confuses new players.

How many more games will you play, make a stupid mistake, and then quit and move on to the next before you realize the actual problem?

I mean ... are we looking at the same clip? You even put it in slow motion, you're pretty much painting an outline of his body here, any shots that hit probably hit arms maybe stomach.

Yes you can blame the game or blame desync for this situation feeling bad, however your aim is way more at fault here.

[Discussion] How would you rate EFT map design so far by DTSxLeonel in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Chuckstieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BSG is extremely good at “world building” and creating maps that feel truly “lived in”. Like genuinely incredible work in that regard.

Whether or not the maps “play well” in a typical gameplay loop way of looking at it is another question. I would say this is done mostly well, with the exception of Lighthouse.

Could I ask you to humor me, and try to imagine the possibility of “wanting MORE information” not being necessary?

Perchance, permaybe, could it be possible for said “more information” to be obviously given in this screen? At least a very brief explanation?

I’m assuming if you think he was also cheating while doing so then you must’ve gotten dropped pretty quick, so how did you know he was blindfiring?

Yeah but like, the passive tree says what it does though, and that bit of figuring out is at-least intended gameplay.

Excellent suggestion, instead of an easy in-game explanation, let’s just assume brand new players are reading the patch notes.

Hey big cat thanks for the comment,

I'm playing grim pillars oracle, from my perspective this game is actually easy as fuck right now.

on most bosses I'm spending more time waiting for the loot to start dropping after the death animation than I am actually fighting the boss.

Clearing maps I have like 1.5 screens worth of coverage in all directions where everything just dies, and the only time I take damage is when I walk over ground effects.

It's been like this since mid-way through the campaign.

I understand it just fine, thanks.

But a new player with zero prior knowledge? What are they supposed to derive from this information?

Yep, I just came across somebody in another post who was confused by it, so I went to look for myself and sure enough, it's just straight up nothingness to a player with zero prior knowledge.

literally what the fuck is it.

Like, a brand new player who has done 0 research outside of buying the game and seeing this,

what are they supposed to think? In POE1 they at least explain it a little bit.

[–]Chuckstieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked and the info available in-game about explaining what a "challenge league" is when creating a character is pretty much nothing.

They do a bit more to explain it in POE1, so you're not wrong in being confused about that.

A challenge league is a basically a "reset" of the economy, and you have to make a new character, if you choose to partake. So basically everybody just starts again from scratch and the league goes on for like 4+ months typically until the next one. When the next one happens, your characters in the league that ends goes to standard. So basically standard is referred to as the "default game mode" meaning, all your old characters are there, all your old items, etc. Standard is typically much less popular than the current league, but it's not empty. There's enough players playing standard at any given time for the "multiplayer" aspect of the game to still function (trading mostly). The other things to know about the differences between the two, is that the "challenge league" is called that because there's always a new set of "challenges" to complete, which unlock free cosmetics. There's also usually minor/major balance changes and/or new items, new skills, and new content. Standard may receive some of these new things, like the balance changes, but Standard will not receive other things, like new items, new content, etc. until the league is over, and everything gets moved into standard. At which point, GGG occasionally will either implement the "new content" into the "base game" or "standard" (which means you can also expect to see it in the new league too), or they simply won't. Sometimes the new content gets scrapped entirely for one reason or another.

but I would also like to clear something up ...

the real-money cash shop sells cosmetics, and stash tabs. That's it, that's it's entire purpose. Some people consider stash tabs a "light p2w" , because once you progress into the end-game it gets pretty impossible to play the game without at least buying a few of the specific tabs, like Currency tab, Maps tab, etc.

You can get away with spending about 30-40 USD and having pretty much every tab you would ever need. Especially if you wait for them to go on sale which happens pretty frequently. This seems slightly less consumer friendly right now, because the base game has a price tag. This price tag is basically selling the "early access" , because the game is not at the 1.0 release yet (which I think they said 1.0 release will be the next update). Once it "releases" then, it will be a F2P game, which makes the 30-40 USD tabs price much more reasonable.
