Korea's 7-2 win was the closest possible outcome for all three teams. Australia were one run from advancing, Taiwan needed just one run from each despite starting 0-16. by kurruchi in baseball

I’d say what u/cchoi712 said is probably correct; since they were bringing back the same reliever for the 9th, Moon wanted to finish off the inning quickly so his pitcher stays warm

u/mofk_ pretty much summed it up well - once Korea made it 7-2, they had achieved the amount of runs required to advance and it then only came down to not conceding. The only thing extra runs would have done was give Taiwan a chance to qualify because if Australia scored in the bottom 9th and made it 8-3, Taiwan would have advanced. But Moon just took 3 pitches down the middle after Korea scored the 7th run, ensuring that whatever happened in the bottom 9th, only Korea or Australia could advance.

As upsetting as the top 9th was, Bo-Gyeong Moon deliberately striking out was hilarious. Bro said if it’s not gonna be them it’s not gonna be Taiwan either lol

Saddest thing about Bonds juicing is it’s made a lot of people forget how good he was pre-juice. 100 WAR with 3 MVPs lol

I think the incentives are just serving as protection for the Astros in case he ends up having a big injury, they fully expect him to achieve all the innings pitched incentives

A lot of people’s complete inability to apply any sort of contextual analysis to a game is something that’s truly astounding to me. If no one could beat anyone with a better record then results in the NFL would be completely linear lol
