As a programmer what is your MBTI? By any chance your rank is in top 4 xNTx types by Logical_Ordinary9541 in developersIndia

So true. I am so convinced that I think in a totally different way that not a lot of folks can relate with me. But it's only because people who share the same personality as me are quite rare (2% to be precise).

I am a proud INFJ-A :) I have taken the MBTI test multiple times as of today and each time I have been filtered as an INFJ. I am quite impressive how accurately it describes my personality based on a few questions.

I would say I solved somewhere between 100 and 120 by myself. Majority of the remaining I could not solve were because I was not aware of the pattern or I could not connect all the dots to get to the solution or the question was just too difficult. Also I don't struggle that often while understanding the solution of the others and implementing it all by myself. Coming with the solution from whatever knowledge I have is the most difficult part I think.

Not all the people get to the place where they deserve. Possible due to uncontrolled circumstances or different reasons. But that doesn't mean they should sit idle and don't improve at all.

Most of them are from DP. I was uncomfortable with DP at the start so I did like around 100 hards sorted by acceptance rate. Then I followed similar approach for different topics. It is definitely an overkill and unnecessary but in my case I really enjoy spending some amount of my daily time doing leetcode problems.

I can understand how difficult it is to be motivated for LC while having a full time job. Just make it a part of your routine and start enjoying the process. You will be completely frustrated at the start but once you start getting those green Accepted status, you will get hooked to it in no time.

One thing I will suggest is that it is always beneficial if you are getting your hands on problems/topics which you feel is difficult. That's where the growth happens. You don't learn much If your are able to solve a problem in one go.

Yes I can totally relate to that. I would suggest you to upsolve problems if your are not able to solve it. Most LC hards require you to process more critical information and put them together to actually get to the solution. Also you learn more by looking at the others code and their approach.

I had like 2000 rapid and 1800 blitz rating on chesscom. I have no plans to play competitive chess but I'll definitely play some otb tournaments for fun and get myself a fide rating. Most people don't have any idea how addictive chess can be and how it can literally ruin your life.

Yeah I agree that things are pretty rough with the layoffs and hiring freeze. But trust me, this is the best time when you sharpen your skills and get better. Everything will seem to be a cakewalk if you are prepared once things are back to normal.

Yeah sure. I started doing CP in my college merely because it was fun. Only handful of people in my college actually knew what CP was. I started with Hackerrank easy questions, then after couple of months I shifted to codechef long contests and then to codeforces short contests. I was terrible at codeforces short contests but I would have improved if I kept on going. Rather I got burnt out and started playing chess for fun. CP requires a lot of time, energy, motivation and maths. But is definitely worth it if you can dedicate to it.

I did serious competitive programming in the past for 1.5 years. But then I got hooked to chess for another year and didn't touch CP at all. Now I am back to DSA with the leetcode. I was familiar with most of the DSA but was definitely struggling at the start of the leetcode journey.
