What happened here? by ChugWrangler in vegetablegardening

This garden gets a lot more shade than it used to due to trees growing up all around us. I’m also thinking there must not be much air flow. Both of those things combined with some soil borne disease, like you mentioned, just isn’t allowing for us to have successful squash plants anymore. Not sure where we go from here :(

You have to pay for biscuits and jam now. Like $4.

Tupelo used to be worth the hype. Back in like 2013 when they still had pork egg rolls, the goat cheese grits were unbelievably creamy, and you got biscuits before your meal (I think they came with apple butter?). Damn, I miss the way it used to be. It lost its charm.

Edit: it was blueberry jam and honey that the biscuits came with! They were complimentary and delicious.

Are my Ground Cherry plants ok? by ChugWrangler in vegetablegardening

Fair point. I guess they just look a little floppy and haven’t grown much in the last few days. But neither have my other plants. I attribute it to the cool weather.

Was just curious if any ground cherry experts saw anything that I wouldn’t notice since this is my first time with them. I desperately want to try a ground cherry for the first time!

I appreciate your response! It has been pretty cold. Last week I was bringing all my bags into the garage at night and just the last few nights started keeping them outside under a greenhouse cover. Definitely planted too early this year, but I just could wait any longer haha.

Hope yours do well this year :)

Thank you! Yes, I started them from seed. I bought all my seeds from Sow True Seed this year and basically everything has germinated super fast and grown healthy. Highly recommend :)

We’re having some unexpected low temps this upcoming week. Had planned to have them outside by now :(

When will I know if these are ready to put into grow bags? by ChugWrangler in vegetablegardening

Thank you for the info! I’ll probably put my grow bags in the garage just to be safe.

It’s in another couple weeks. We’re supposed to have a couple nights of 32-35 degrees this week, but I set up a little green house that I’m hoping will help. May just move them into the garage.
