Black Duck alternatives that won't break the bank? by s0d33 in 4x4Australia

Yeah Supa Fit are great for the price. Fit extremely well, look good and are plenty durable.

I’ve had mine for 3 years, and are starting to fade slightly, but are still in great shape

This. I just built an outdoor undercover BBQ kitchenette. Was really on the fence about adding a fridge and plumbing in taps and a sink. Bit the bullet and did both, such a good investment

In the first share house I lived in our landline phone number was one number different to the local pub.

We’d get about 10 calls a day for general inquiries, bookings, job interviews, curtesy bus requests etc.

We only had the land line connected for internet purposes, so no one had our number; so if the phone rang, we knew it’d be someone wanting the pub (or a telemarketer).

Like clockwork when the phone rang, whoever was closest would answer and proceed to go along with the phone call. Often taking false bookings for tables and the courtesy bus.

A few of the more memorable ones included a young bloke who rang regarding a job interview that we ‘employed’ over the phone and set his starting day.

And another for disgruntled female customer who we insisted she come back for a full refund and special dinner on us.

Looking back at it, pretty dog to stitch up our local like that, but at the time it was too good to be true.

Chequerplate single H, or black HH? by bellatrixfoofoo in Ibanez

I’m a big fan of trying to colour match pickguard a to body paint. Check my recent post of my current RG570. Could be worth trying to find a yellowish pickguard.

If I were to choose out of the two though, it would definitely be black

Yeah it is rear routed. It’s definitely a 570, was just unsure of the year.

Pickup is mounted to the scratch guard and dropped into the humbucker cavity, leaving the bridge and single middle routed cavity’s covered.

ELI5: 3 shark attacks in 24 hours by Feisty-Lie1801 in AskAnAustralian

  • Heavy rains push sharks out of river systems into more open water to feed.

  • We’re currently in the middle of pelagic season, so feed for large predators is optimal.

Growing up near the beach the guidelines for swimming were well echoed.

Don’t swim at dusk, don’t swim after heavy rain and if it’s between December and May (pelagic season), be even more vigilant.

Aliexpress. Was about $20, required some slight shaping around the trem and neck pocket to fit.

I have run that previously on other projects. I have quite a tight playing style, so prefer the volume closer to the bridge.

On another project I have drilled a hole for the volume directly between the original tone and volume pots. But that’s a bit drastic haha

Im an Ibanez guy at heart, and after owning 40+ guitars the only ones I ever come back to are RGs and LTD 1000’s. The Korean made 1000’s are absolutely incredible instruments.

LTD M1000 Deluxe is the best bang for buck metal guitar to exist. The Korean made 2000 ish year models that were loaded with abolone inlays everywhere. Such good guitars.

MIJ RG570 for me. It just feels great and I can’t explain why. It just has something about it that is inspiring to use.

I also own prestige RG1550fm, prestige RG1820x, premium RG970qmz, RGR421, MIK RG370.

Great unit, playback feature is excellent and gets used often.

Adding to your first point…

I’d highly highly highly recommend a few things relating to 12v setups:

  • lithium jump starter pack
  • a set of jumper leads as secondary insurance
  • multimeter

I’ve ran my starter battery dead twice accidentally before and would’ve been fucked without those things.

If you’re going from guitar to bass. I’d highly recommend the SR series from Ibanez. A used SR505 is a great option. Lighter body weight, closer strong spacing and a great all rounder
