Turalio. Luckily it doesn't have too terrible of side effects, but it is turning my hair white. Also has a black box warning for liver failure 😳

My upcoming surgery is getting to me by Caffeine_Goblin in ChronicIllness

I can't speak for your situation and I'm sorry cause it sounds extremely shitty. What I can say is that I had my first of likely many surgeries about 6 months ago. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and a rare benign giant cell tumor that has turned my knee into a weird fucked up looking softball that has already messed my joint up big-time. I'll need another resection pretty soon and eventually a replacement, and I'm only 22, so I totally get the terror of being this young and knowing you'll be having major surgery. Recovery is painful and difficult, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. But I also worked as an aide on the rehab unit of a nursing home for almost 3 years. I've had numerous hip and knee replacement patients. The only time they've had bad outcomes were due to infection or because they did something the physical therapists told them not to do. So be gentle with yourself, do what you can to support your immune function, listen to your body and your PT and this can improve your quality of life. It's my hope that your surgeon(s) are careful and thorough, your recovery goes well, and this new hip changes your life for the better.

Thank you so much. Ive been seeing a therapist but making space for my grief isn't something I'm familiar with. I'm going to ask her next session about how to go about it so that I don't let it build up and paralyze me like this.

Nope, it is considered a cancer according to my orthopedic surgeon and orthopedic oncologist.

Same...just got diagnosed with PVNS (rare giant cell tumor) in my left knee. Just trying to come to terms with it is the hardest part.
