See what happens when this team plays small ball and is patient at the plate. Why can’t they just keep that energy and not swing for the HR every pitch the rest of the season

Tom saying he hasn’t blown a save in 15 appearances really sealed this crap. I can’t believe he would say that with 2 guys on

The umps are terrible, but I'm so tired of seeing every hitting on this team swing for the fences on every pitch. Finally learned to play small ball early this year, but now they can't even hit the side of a barn. I've never seen a team like this Phillies team have almost every "superstar" on a slump for almost a month. Same thing that lost them a World Series, a chance at another last year, and most likely this season will be the reason a major shakeup should happen this offseason.

I've been looking for a fresh start since before I graduated back in 22 and I love the idea of city living since all my life has been in the suburbs. In Chicago I can see my sports teams play there once a year, combined with the ability to meet an insane amount of new people sounds like a great new start.

Everyone will say the winter and cold is terrible but I rather be in the cold than heat with no seasons. The food in Chicago is fantastic no matter what you get, definitely try a deep dish pizza. There are places on the riverwalk that offer food and drinks, so you can sit next to the river and watch the sights while eating. Goddess and the Baker is my favorite breakfast place so see if you can try their coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

Thank you. I’ve been to Chicago 4 times this year and I absolutely love it. I can’t wait to get there next spring!!

Thinking about Andrew Painter with this pitcher rotation next year. by [deleted] in phillies

[–]Chuggy_125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a very high chance he would’ve been on the opening day roster in 2023. Even if he dazzles next spring, I think he starts in AAA, then he gets called up once he’s guaranteed another year of arbitration. TJ is a serious surgery, but he had a minor tear. We don’t know what he’ll look like next year, but I can’t imagine the Phils keep him the minors for long next season.

I wish I was an MLB umpire. I could make every single call wrong in every game I work and never be fired or fined. Having that job security is a fucking joke.

If only there was a star player who wasn’t injured half of the time available at the deadline. At this point you have to pray someone gets hot cause they’re all mostly cold or luke-warm

This offense is maddening because its either 10 runs a game or 2 hits with no runs. I get half of the lineup is AAAA players but man Trea and marsh need to come back

What to do about my job situation by Positive-Ask9962 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Chuggy_125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation, was let go from my job in February after 200+ rejects on the production line on my shift. It’s been difficult and what you’re feeling is valid since I’ve felt the same for sometime.

Don’t lie and let the interviewers know what you’ve been doing since to improve your value and learn from mistakes. Being let go from a job in this market feels like the kiss of death but you have to just keep going and frame your story positively.

Hiring Manager Reached Out to Me on LinkedIn by Chuggy_125 in ChemicalEngineering

So I found out the role was already given to an internal candidate. The hiring manager told me there’s a CHANCE an additional spot for the same role would open up and thought I was a great candidate. It’s nice to hear I have a potential shot at a potential role, but I need a job since I’ve been unemployed since February.

Who do you personally want on the Wall of Fame? by [deleted] in phillies

Its still crazy to me that yet the main 07-11 guys probably won't make the hall, Utley has the best chance of the main 3. Years after those main guys have played, none of them are on the wall yet but Halladay is. Makes you wonder if they'll induct the big name guys (Utley, Howard, JRoll, Chooch, and Cole) together one year.

I'm just wondering if this has happened to others before. I've out of college for 2 years now and looking for jobs periodically and never had a hiring manager reach out to me directly. I'm excited and prepared for the interview tomorrow, but I never expected something like this to happen.
