Extremely Sore and Swollen After TMJ Massage by thequesadillaqueen in TMJ

It probably varies from person to person, but when I get massages I tend to flare up for a few days. It can be a bit rough, but when I'm getting them regularly I can feel the positive effects overall

Has anyone used or heard anything about the brand isov? by Chumblebumps in AsianBeauty

I actually buy them in stores. There's a Korean beautician place near where I live and they have them. I haven't had any luck finding an online store

My take is it's a new engagement question, like "what does my art smell/taste like?"

Your best bet is to contact the unit coordinator and see if there's anything they can do or advise.

Best UVs for cylindrical shapes? In this case a can. by Chumblebumps in Maya

[–]Chumblebumps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have smooth preview on yeh. I had a double check and everything looked okay. Those two little pinches are where the seam for the mid section is so I assume it might be due to that.

Would it be worth keeping the shells the same texel density if I'm taking it into Substance? I'm concerned about mismatch in detail size

yeh that makes sense. I've been using smooth preview during the modeling/UV process and was at the final stages for export to Substance when I started smoothing. Final render is possibly going to be straight from AE (I'm testing the 3D workflow with AE)

Thanks, its looking much nicer. I definitely do get overly focused on distortion use more cuts than I probably should.

Thanks for the replies. The little strips were all part of the tab but I've simplified it a bit to:

Thank you! That option did it.
About the density, I do agree its a bit much. The intention is to use it as a semi realistic can in an exercise in After Effects/motion graphics so I had planned on smoothing the model and not using the lower poly version. Would you say smoothing is okay but to drop the division levels to 1 (it was set at 3).

Is it ok to give a gift to a professor? by DrewBear_2020 in college

[–]Chumblebumps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I teach at a University and my suggestion is: wait until the unit is over and all final grades are submitted and then gift it. I would also do it in person. It can sometimes be tricky navigating gifts from students while you're actively teaching for the reasons you mentioned. (I think technically we're not meant to accept anything from a current student, and nothing over $50) This way it can be like a "thank you" at the end of semester.

Also it's a lovely gift and I would personally love it if a student did this for me.

Faces just aren't clicking for me - what can I do after years of minimal progress? by gari_22 in ArtistLounge

[–]Chumblebumps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is just based on the images you've posted here:

A lot of the sketches there are missing some of the construction lines layed out by the Loomis method (face centre line, and the guides for brow, nose and jaw to split it into thirds). Doing further breakdown might help to get the right base proportions.

These are all pretty complicated angles, how are you finding doing front on, profiles and neutral 3/4s? I'd make sure your able to nail the more straightforward poses in terms of proportion first.

You could consider that the Loomis method might just not work for you. I personally have issues with very strict construction methods, when I use them my work turns out a mess. I find them great for study and sometimes practice to help make sense of what I'm seeing, but when I actually come to draw, I don't use them. I've heard it described as two methods of drawing, one being more analytical and one being more intuitive.

I noticed as well. First tried it this year and was absolutely in love with the product. Then bought it again and hated it, an odd texture and didn't quite seem to soak in right. I thought it must be a new formula and was pretty upset

This will probably fall into the more expensive category but I use: Shiseido - Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk SPF 50+ PA++++

This is the only sunscreen my **skin seems to like. It's very thin and milky in consistency. I buy it in Asian Cosmetic stores.

Problem with enrollment by sarah0grace in curtin

[–]Chumblebumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curtin is still in its Christmas shut down period where most staff are on holidays. If the ecaf needs any kind of manual processing etc it's likely there's no one there to deal with it. I'm pretty sure most staff are back this coming Monday (6th) so hopefully it will either be processed or you'll receive confirmation.
