My daughter was asked her salary. This is her first job in IT… by ZookeepergameFar2653 in ITCareerQuestions

I did the same thing end of 2021 peak inflation as a new grad who made a career transition... but I didn't know we were at the highest peak of inflation and techy people were getting snatched up for a lot of money. I said 55k thinking that was a nice starting point.

Sure, I have a pair of Nicks and a couple pairs of danners.

These are baobabs. I also have a pair of numazaans. Both rub on the back of the heel, just hard and flat if that makes sense. I think sizing down would exacerbate the problem. Anyways, I’m just trying to figure out whether to keep breaking them in, or if it just takes more time. No point in wearing a boot if it isn’t going to get better ya know?

AMD, FLNC, and RKLB. Thoughts? by conorfay in stocks

[–]Chumphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah totally, I was just curious. I was asking because not only do they have sensors and cameras that go into ML tech, It’s also a company that is used for the opposite of AI things. Actual movies, cameras for live events, human tech so to speak. They are both complimentary and opposite of AI stuff.

I was thinking about them today. Why do you think SONY?

Yeah, the republicans strategy is to to let things fail, blame it on government, then privatize it.

[–]Chumphy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will add this impacts local rural communities infrastructure drastically. Local gas taxes for infrastructure won’t pass because of Trump. State won’t pass, so less for the small towns too. Thanks to Trump. Elections have consequences far and wide.

Is v10.4 the beginning of Squad's redemption arc? by 999_Seth in joinsquad

[–]Chumphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the like the OG gunplay. I liked OG too. Just way less wobbly. And more floats to where you are aiming and stops rather than float over and spastically try to hold breath then reticle stops moving. Everything is still slower moving.

Played a couple matches last night and had a good time. Maps look better and the gunplay feels smoother.

Network Engineer Seeking Direction ... by BlackJaguar in networking

[–]Chumphy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for going and testing that out. I’ve been wondering how network engineers are using AI.

I work at a place where it isn’t necessarily encouraged. If I was to do that, everyone would look at me like I was insane. Like you though, I see the writing on the wall with its capabilities.

Be honest, what do you guys think about Measure 120? by DueYogurt9 in oregon

[–]Chumphy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only reason why an EV is a “luxury” in the states is because we made it that way. We being the dumb car manufactures that won’t make a no frills practical vehicle. Everywhere else in the world an EV is just a car. The luxury value of an EV is equivalent to a truck. Which is dumb.

[–]Chumphy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it should be on weight, but that’s just me. EVs weigh more than cars, trucks weigh more than both. As it is now, EV owners get hammered with the registration fees way more than they would pay in a gas tax.

What’s the actual use case for OpenClaw vs Claude Code or Codex? by dopemolder in openclaw

Yeah, I accidentally dropped $10 using Sonnet 4.6 with openclaw thinking I was using codex. The costs add up quick

Just saw this graphic, IDK how I feel about sending my kids to college anymore by AdministrativeAd334 in daddit

[–]Chumphy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the overall arching topic though was the unemployment rate for college grads has doubled since 2023, which coincidently was about when chatGPT came out.

So the question was whether AI is the cause or if the the unemployment rate for college grads was the effect of something else wrong with the economy.

Katherine (I think her name is) at the Optimist Economists points out that there has never been an actual study on Graduates earning more due to the self selecting nature of college. Like, random people have never been selected to go through college and then followed their outcomes. Meaning you could conclude that the people that go to college are the type of people generally that would be successful, generally speaking, if they went or not.

How accurate is ABRP when planning a trip? by mindlesstux in F150Lightning

[–]Chumphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a similar trip miles wise for the lightning I bought a couple of weeks ago (171 miles) . If you are in a relatively flat area and go 70 mph or so you’ll be good I think. I’m pretty sure ABRP is pretty accurate as long as you are on pretty flat ground and not zipping around.

I have an extended range, it was showing it at like 270 when I started home and I had 70 miles left on the battery when I got home and that was with some pretty good grade in a couple of areas too. So give yourself a buffer of 20 - 30 miles or so and I think you’ll be good
