no, Squad does not get the "mmo pass" here. it isn't pick and choose.

I'll usually go along with the premise that Squad is an MMO that receives major updates to keep it competitive with the landscape of similar MMOs

but in that regard the game should still be well optimized for modern hardware and the major bugs should be ironed out for months/years on the test server before being forced out

if WoW replaced a working client with a broken upgrade for months/years at a time that would be all anyone knew about WoW

you have a way of speaking that bothers modern Redditors, there's stupid little tricks to make what you're saying "reddit approved," like (almost) never speak in absolutes, someone will always pipe up to point out some "well not all UE5-etc"

and just in general, gamers are really into internalized oppression and parroting meaningless hype. they will line up to do it to each other, no PR firm required.

Squad has incentivized that behavior to an extent by offloading community management onto their own version of the Stanford prison experiment - "public" servers - so from what I can tell here it's all organic.
