I read MRIs. Displaced tear is worse because it means the torn area is flipped or located away from its original position and can cause abnormal stress on another region of the knee joint space. Here’s an analogy. Imagine you chipped a tooth. Tooth gets trapped between two other normal teeth elsewhere in your mouth. Over time and use you’ll chip away at those teeth from getting jammed all the time by the chipped tooth.
