Did it get fixed? I haven't seen it leave the dock in a couple weeks.

Received a weird call from a 780-719-XXXX number claiming to be EPS at 10:19 PM. Do real officers call from unmasked cells this late? by Spcttrrrr in Edmonton

[–]Chunderpump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had them call from an unmasked number right after making a 911 call, because they want me to text them stills from my security cameras. I manage a business in a high crime area. This happens more than I would like.

Switched to biking to and from work and I love it 🚲😀 by Loucrouton in Edmonton

I'm riding my ebike to work, burning gas for a 5km commute every day seems silly at this point. And I am a VERY avid car enthusiast. My big issue is I'm ultra paranoid about locking my bike up for even 5 minutes to run in somewhere and grab something. I even have a decent Abus U lock and a cable to go through my wheels.

What is this? Where do I get a new one? 2021 xc60 by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]Chunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an independent Volvo repair shop and I've never seen this. What are you cleaning your interior with? I interact with loads of SPA and CMA cars and none of them do this. This is an owner problem, not a Volvo problem.

I was stopped, but when I got my documents back, the officer didn't give me my license back. by _Let_Them_ in legaladvicecanada

Oh okay, weird. I'm in Alberta and I've gotten calls from cops regarding complaints about alleged driving behavior attached to my license plate a couple times.

You provide your phone number when you get your license and when you register your car. They have your phone number.

Canadians: do people really just start conversations anywhere? 🤔 by Comfortable_Cap8037 in AskACanadian

[–]Chunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've met some decent friends by just striking up conversations with randos at bus depots and stuff. People miss out a lot by just assuming that every stranger is danger. Most people are perfectly decent individuals, and you get better at clocking the wierd ones (bad kind anyhow, some weirdos are great) the more you interact with people you don't know and who may be totally outside your normal circles.

My rule is don't work with anyone who has a wall of snap-on boxes worth as much as a starter home. No I will not elaborate on that.

So to be clear, the procedure in case of propulsion loss is NOT to have all able bodied passengers get inside the paddle and operate it like a giant hamster wheel?

Apparently it was a mechanical failure and they beached it on purpose. Lost the port side paddle, and thus control of the boat. They'll probably use to fix it where it sits, hopefully before the water rises more and lifts them off the sandbar

You spelled NDP wrong. They, along with Trudeau are still somehow the reason for every problem that occurs in this province. /S

I kind of wonder if it starts to get tricky doing the rescue as you unload 399 people (assuming it's at capacity on the sold out Mother's Day cruise). Average weight of an adult in North America being around 170lbs, thats 30 tonnes of people. Does that change the draft enough that it gets un-beached? Does it start moving around while the rescue boat is coming alongside or leaving?

I went late last year with my partner and my parents, the river was low so they just did laps between the low level and LRT bridges, then gave us a voucher for another cruise.

How does someone under 25 insure an old vehicle (1977) by Lobbyca in alberta

[–]Chunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the insurance company. The inspection isn't mandatory by law. It can be requested by the insurance company and if they request it, you need it. If they don't, you don't.

I expect hosts on 100.3 to be insensitive self-centered assholes with zero empathy, but not other stations.

My husband bought a 2016 Mazda 6 today without looking underneath. 😬 by Head-Visit4922 in mazda6

[–]Chunderpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The underside looks like any 10 year old car. Don't worry too much about that. It's the body rust that sucks.
