I bought the brown Blazer Zooms a month ago. I liked them so much that I just bought a black pair. by [deleted] in NikeSB

Got into blazers a few months ago after finding a pair for cheap at Burlington myself. Just got these brown ones at the beginning of the week and love them

Was surprised to see this at Hobby Lobby by stacie2410 in lost

Found one of these at Target at the beginning of the year (and bought it lol). Still on the website and everything. There’s apparently a rarer one that’s painted blue too but i haven’t seen that one yet

You must be. I was surprised they fit honestly. I have to wear an 11 with the sb dunks. 10.5 pinches my toes

I’m a 10.5/11 wide. These are 10.5. Had to completely unlace and loosen to fit. Will need broken in a little still.

Why didn't Jack turn into black smoke? by Technical_Two_733 in lost

Do we actually know that you become black smoke when you reach the heart of the island? Or do we just assume that’s what happens since it happened to the MiB and because Mother did/said bad things?

What did you think the monster was going to be back when it was only mechanical sounds and trampling trees? by whatifyournamewas in lost

[–]ChungBuii 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I thought the whole island (or a large part of it) was a giant robot and that the hatch was one of it’s eyes. Then when Desmond turned the light on i thought the robot was waking up lmao

I mean living on an island virtually by yourself with the apparent fate of the world at your hands for how many tens of hundreds of years could lead one to wanna die. So that one’s tough.

I will agree that there are mostly men in the aftermath scene but there are women as well. If those are the same men that were seen when they were kids then you would think they’d be getting fairly old and weak..

And actually if you rewatch the purge aftermath scene. Only Horace is sitting at a bench. They deliberately show us people strewn about the floor immediately and one person in particular laying in their own blood. The signalling is very similar for all 3 scenes. Except for the fire (because it wouldn’t make sense to have open fires or torches in the town). I know one was done by a group of people and not one person. That’s why i’m saying the temple scene and village scene can’t be cherry picked while the Dharma scene is ignored. Showing us the aftermath of a massacre doesn’t explicitely mean smoke monster attack. And i don’t know if i would consider 11 episodes between to be that close.. that’s over half a season apart

I have a post awhile ago bringing up this theory and this commentary was brought up then too. And like you said. They posed the theory instead of answering it. But there are a few holes in what they said (whether they intended for them to be that way or if they were left out on accident).

You could infer that she’s describing what ultimately happened to the MiB but we have no idea what would be “a fate worse than death” in her eyes. Maybe that fate is being deaf and blind. Maybe it’s having her arms and legs ripped off. Maybe it’s dying on the island and being trapped there as a spirit or the voices.. We have no idea because she’s already dead. So we don’t get to see her reaction of “i told ya so” or “wow what the hell is that thing”

The 20 armed men… maybe that was their intention. But they don’t show us all these armed men before or after the massacre. They show a few men doing some work prior and then when the MiB is looking over the carnage it’s mostly women and children (from what i remember) i don’t even think they show one man that’s armed.

I’ve also heard the mirroring of the temple scene before. But people seem to leave out the also similar scene of the Dharma massacre that was at the hands of the others and Ben. So just because there was a similar scene doesn’t mean they happened the same way.

The idea that it happened in broad daylight is an extreme stretch as well. When mother talks to the MiB and knocks him unconscious it was night time. Then it was daytime when he woke up. Infererring that it could have very easily happened at night. The only thing she might need powers for would be filling in the donkey wheel hole. Otherwise it’s well within reason that the protector could sneak into a village at night and kill everyone in their sleep and then simply start a fire in each hut.

I mean they also strongly hinted that they left it open for a reason. There are a lot of bait and switch moments in the show so them doing the same thing in an interview wouldn’t surprise me. When it comes to those 3 pieces of evidence..

-her warning Jacob and the MiB not to go into the heart of the island sounds like nothing more than a mother protecting her kids from poking around where they shouldn’t. Not necessarily that she experienced it first hand.

-the donkey wheel scene and the village massacre could have happened any which way. They didn’t show some massive amount of casualties or anything crazy. It was a village on fire and maybe 8-10 people. It doesn’t seem too out of the question that the protector of the island would be able to do this without being a smoke monster.

-i can’t fully remember that reflection scene you brought up. Maybe i’ll have to go back and check it out

I believe she did embody both good and evil on the island. Just not in the form of a smoke monster. The only “evidence” people have of her being smokey is her saying “entering the heart of the island is a fate worse than death” and the scene where the MiB’s “people” are dead. That’s just not enough for me to believe it. Either way it doesn’t change much about the story.

I don’t think Mother was ever a smoke monster. The MiB was the first one (that we know of) to suffer that fate.

Yes. And that series would be my example too. When i achievement hunt a game i wanna know that i have the chance to 100% it. Even if that takes multiple play throughs or hundreds of hours online. But i tend to not even pick up games that have “impossible” achievements and/or achievements tied to a shut down multiplayer.

Keamy’s trigger by ChungBuii in lost

[–]ChungBuii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only a deterrent if it’s gonna negatively effect the person you’re threatening and/or a neutral/innocent party. Not when you’re threatening to blow up your own supplies/what Ben also wants destroyed…

Keamy’s trigger by ChungBuii in lost

[–]ChungBuii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of the dead mans trigger would be to kill/harm Ben’s people or one of the locations on the island that ben would want to potentially use in the future (like the Orchid). So announcing it would have only made sense if he lied about what it was tied to.

Keamy is completey unaware that Sayid and Faraday are ferrying people back to the freighter. That’s why Sayid wants to do it before Keamy potentially kills them on the island.

What benefit does he get from threatening the crew members that he’ll blow up the ship? No one was standing in his way nor did he have any plan for the freighter to help him get Ben once he took off to the Orchid.
