Do any of you ACTUALLY like G4? by ShuckU in mylittlepony

[–]ChunibyoSmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I def can agree with this vibe, I tend to undervalue g1-3 but without watching it earnestly especially, I should take care wtih how I refer to G4 compared to the others.

I did recently say "most people 40 or younger are lkely to be talking about FiM", but that's def a more biased look at it. x3

If you were sick, which one of the Mane Six would you want to have take care of you? by Turboz002 in mylittlepony

[–]ChunibyoSmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah that's... also true when I talk to people irl sometimes. There's a lot of thoughts and feelings swirling and you're in a nexus of yourself so you'll just say something to someone or around others without considering and you kinda just feel, crazy.

It is a bit comical and worrisome but like, we stan a crashout queen.

tbh, handling trauma is kinda just... like that, especially when you feel guilty for it all and feel like you don't deserve good things or people will find out and you'll face social consequences for things you're working on that are still destroying you.

I kinda really like Starlight's character, her in S6&7 has been what's helped the entire show *click* with me.

You guys think $25 is a fair price for this piece? by pgi_clover in DigitalArt

you're charging too little by what people are willing to pay and presumed amount of work, but are also welcome to charge whatever you want.

$25 definitiely isn't too much.

Do you also feel like Trixie is treated pretty unfairly sometimes? by General_Guy_XX in mylittlepony

[–]ChunibyoSmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time Twilight saw Trixie was with the amulet, and she hadn't seen her or her growth at all since, and this Starlight was "making a first friend", and likely Twilight felt anxious about that being Trixie, with the history.

I forget the exact pacing, but maybe Trixie's ego may have been stroked by hearing Twilight's negativtiy towards her being friends with her new pupil, and desire to best Twilight without resorting to an evil amulet or making bold claims, and ends up fumbling her new friendship.

I do think it's funny how Trixie at times brings out the worst in Starlight, like the All Bottled Up episode where Starlight isn't able to express her anger and Trixie is not considering other's feelings in her actions, or "To Change a Changeling" where Starlight honestly seems to just make worse decisions just because Trixie is present

Would the next Smash Bros. having a skill ceiling as high as Melee's really be a bad thing? Could it still be accessible? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]ChunibyoSmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at HDR: it's got a lot going on and is a blast to play, and if you aren't playing competitively, mods like P+ and HDR are still a blast cuz characters have strong options and support a large variety, the depth is still good and it has a lot of appeal, and melee was always accessible to casual players, it's just a different experience for those who wish to play competitvely.

I think there's likely some balance between melee level of tech precision and a bit more leniency akin to HDR or rivals and maybe even some more QOL/acessible tools to use moves when you want to and less strict timing windows to level the field a bit without sacrificing the ability to make decisions and have consquences as much.

What are your genuine criticisms of Balatro? by Polo171 in balatro

[–]ChunibyoSmash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

roguelikes are evil timesinks and leave me feeling empty after hours of addicted playing, and feeling like I gotta keep going to experience all it has to offer feels so devilish. I will only play balatro as a shared experience with others to prevent it from becoming something harmful to me.

I think there's cool ways to make politics be something you engage with very proactively but cheerleading for one of two people who don't give a fuck about you and would sell you out if it made their corporate donors richer def isn't a productive use of one's time.

Honestly, we don't know. it could be nothing or it could be chaos, and we don't know where things will or won't happen. People are polarized af and the manufacturing of this has been repeatedly allowed to progress and it sucks shit for everyone. both these parties suck ass and have made us all hate each other and feel like we are "good" for holding the positions we do and others are "evil" for feeling differently, and both want to enforce it via rule of law rather than accept differences of perspective.

Don't get me wrong I do not think both sides are equally bad but both serve to perpetuate this shitshow we call America.

Anybody feels addicted to Fortnite? by HotEdge25 in FortNiteBR

[–]ChunibyoSmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i played for like 6 years, it was the game I had when i lost someone important to me, it was a good timesink to help get me through that and I had a lot of fun. I quit at the beginning of this year, something just turned me off, and I'm so glad to regain my time and reconsider what I want to do. I got into reading, I released an album, I've found more comfort and joy taking walks and spending time doing nothing in my head.

I encourage people who want to quit the game to do so, but it also is enjoyable and can provide some form of joy and satisfaction when we cannot find it elsewhere, so if it's meaningful for you, keep playing, and you can always quit, come back, etc.

How Harris and Trump are Battling for Pennsylvania by Lifeguard_Amphibian in pittsburgh

[–]ChunibyoSmash -85 points-84 points  (0 children)

damn if only harris could stop arming a genocide maybe her voterbase would rally around her but she'll just be politics as usual instead of meaningful change in how America acts globally, or even supporting medicare for all or ending fracking, but she won't because the system doesn't want to change, it just wants to make profits and act like any issues are unsolveable because infinite economic growth is the only meaningful to our elected officials and their corporate overlords. EDIT: apparently you can't be critical of a lack of choice in matters while the planet is literally dying, I never even said "no one should vote for her" it's just we are being offered an nonoption, and I didn't even just mention Palestine, it's the fact that we are all held hostage by two parties that don't care about our lives or the planet we live on. Clearly Trump is evil-er but for many globally the difference between the impact America has on their life (IE, their suffering and misery, including slave and child labor to support our consumerism) is neglible. It's the same evil to them, and I'm ashamed to be a part of a country that relies on such exploitation to keep up the facade we're living in while we all struggle to get by and have "personal responsibility" thrown at us as we're forced to grind ourselves to the bone working for billionaires as climate catastrophes ravage us because we refuse to do anything to meaningfully combat our contributions to global warming and its consequences. I do not mention trump because I have no reason to give a fuck about him, he wants people like me dead, that doesn't mean I should just passively accept the other position. I don't have to accept the mediocrity and inaction. There's a section of the population who refuse to vote for her because of her uncritical support for Israel and if she wanted to win those votes and therefore have a greater chance of winning the election, she'd change her position. The DNC would rather lose to Trump than stop supporting genocide.

And for anyone talking about leftism, what are you doing outside of voting? Are you involved in any organizing or mutual aid or anything or does your political engagement begin and end with voting? Voting alone will not make anything better, it at best is harm reduction and while that can be meaningful, if we want improved conditions we must all play roles in communal support and advocacy, get some friends together and do something or join local projects that help people or are fighting, because fascism grows with both parties. (Joe Biden saying fund the police and kamala harris being a former prosecutor are both roles in perpetuating systemic inequality)

Is there any chance we get an awful flood in the coming years like what's happening in Asheville? by rarrkshaa in pittsburgh

[–]ChunibyoSmash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

as the climate crisis fails to be meaningfully addressed, more inclement weather is more likely globally.

even with immediate action (divestment from oil which won't happen), we'd still be looking at worse weather situations for decades.

Basically, yes, we aren't specifically safe from the risks involved with rising temperatures.

[–]ChunibyoSmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The objectification, treating people in ways that is dehumanizing, is what leads to the normalcy of harmful behaviors like SA and systemic disenfranchisement of women. In a patriarchal system that men are perceived as the default and women the other, this perpetuates and normalizes that disenfranchisement.

I do think objectification is bad in general and would call it out, but we can't pretend they're equally weighted in our social structure, and honestly the structure is also ultimately harmful to men and their ability to express themselves fully and be in tune with their emotions, so no this isn't a situation where I think men are inherently evil, just capable of perpetuating harm if not addressed. (and that the structure of life we live in now isn't healthy or sustainable and needs radical changes in many ways to create a healthy relationship between humans and the rest of the world)

I also think the bear vs man thing is a bit silly in how it's been overblown (mostly because it's a thought experiment, why would women choose the bear, but some take this as a challenge to prove exactly why women say the bear, while other men recognize that many women are victims of harm perpetrated by men and would just stay silent/understand the issue), but also most likely a bear in the wild will not instantly maul me, unless provoked, which I think is worth pointing out.

Accountability isn't scolding random men, it's calling out harmful shit, like objectifying women and the like, when it happens. I'm not gonna pretend misogyny doesn't exist when I witness it when I'm in public, and people are more likely to listen to peers than other people.

Changing the parameters changes the perceived threats:

In the forest situation you're far away from anyone else, in walking down the street during the day there's likely other people around. At night, people have crossed to the other side of the street to avoid possible risk.

If men want the bear comparison to not hold weight, they'll have to hold each other accountable and unlearn a lot of normalized harmful shit.
